• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

3.7 seconds in the 1/4!!!! Wow.:yikes:

In 1966, the "Hawaiian" top fuel dragster went 6.51 @251 mph, to a new world record and I was there at the time at Long Beach Dragstrip, in Southern California.

Watching these things run will blow your mind!

 It sounds about like strapping a bomb to your butt, and waiting to see what just happened! :yikes:
I heard the 7,000 horsepower number about 10 years ago; perhaps 10,000 horsepower is possible today... :dontknow:

This reminds me of the signs that used to be at the tracks in the late 70's and early 80's that said, Speed Limit 300 mph. At that time there were no cars able to run 300 mph in the 1/4 mile. Now the cars are so fast that the quickest ones are only allowed to run 1000 ft. By the end of the 1/4 mile, they would be too fast.

Awesome. ..!!

Remember them well even before they moved the engines to the rear. Living in Florida at the time and hanging with Ed Garlits brother to Don and running one of Andy Granatelli's Pure oil gas stations at the end of the Gandy Bridge. They have come a long ways since then...
