• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. nojoke It is a very disturbing video of a Black Bear attack upon a deer in a residential neighborhood...

If you EVER thought that Mother Nature was kind; this should put an end to THAT theory!

if ever you want to watch a good movie, look up POWDER. it is really good, here is one clip that this reminded of

if that would have taken place in my back yard... there would be one dead bear... once a bear makes a kill he will return to that place again.. next time it might be a human...

I'm with you on this one. It might not have saved the deer but the bear would no longer be breathing air. If that was in my back yard, I could have had my deer rifle with a bead on that bear in less than a minute.

On the subject of black bears, they are getting closer to me than ever before. One was spotted about 15 miles from my house and one about 30 miles away. I'm hoping it was the same one. So now where I live there have been signs of black bear, wolves and a cougar. Add to that our heavy population of coyotes and wild dogs and it's getting to the point where I'm thinking of carrying when I'm in my yard late at night. Out of all of these the most dangerous are the wild dogs. They were once domesticated and are not at all frightened of humans. The coyotes on the other hand are for the most part harmless to humans but it is very eerie listening to them communicate with each other at night.

Thanks Cuz for the movie clip. I'm going to have to look that one up, hope it's on Netflix.

i thought about the same thing, would i of killed the bear, yes, but the dear might of also needed to be put down due to the damage the bear did

Yep, there just soft cuddly critters. :banghead:
Its the law of nature. I probably would have shot the deer to end its suffering. The bear has to eat....
