• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sad sad sad. What was he thinking and what were the police thinking? It was obvious that he wasn't going to stop. If the persuit would have stopped he may be alive today. Was the chase worth what happened? Fortunately no one else was injured.
:(

I understand he was breaking the law..But a lot of states don't allow police to pursue motorcycles for traffic violations because of what happened to that young man...:dontknow:...
They could be liable for a Civil Suit....

Freebob...:doorag:

I agree with all the chase should have not happened they could use their :cus: radios to communicate and arrest later.

:agree: 100% with you all. Sure he should NOT have fled --- but the cops should have just taken the plate number and backed off. But noooo--- someone was looking at a good revenue pull for the dept.

Sad indeed.

This is about 45 min. from my house.

keep right except to pass

+If you listen to the 911 audio clip linked down below, you can hear the onramping officer say, after being told to stay to the right, "I'll try and stay in front of him".

How much do you want to bet he didn't stay right?

Ride on.
Roadkill

Don't forget the old "but for... " legal explanation (re: proximate cause).

For example, he would be alive today but for his own decision to flee from the police at high speed.

I'm pretty reluctant to blame to law enforcement officers also... This kid was the author of his own misfortune.
Everybody involved in this mess will regret their actions for the rest of their lives; the sad fact is that the kid only had to regret it for a couple of seconds...

(I know... get off the soapbox and shut up!):gaah:

Crying shame. SC has a no chase policy in place; however, that doesn't mean they will not use their radios and put a car ahead, or set up a road block, to try to stop you. Obviously it would have been in the riders best interest to stop, or at least be able to dodge the car ahead of him. :(
