• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How can this be true?

Thanks for the heads up......I did not know about this. I will be calling the number!!

Not that it matters... I've started getting tons of calls. So much that I went to the do not call registry to verify my numbers were still on there, and they were. I think they've either found a loophole, or discovered that it's not enforced... Either way, I've had to add a bunch of numbers to my "ignore / reject" list in the last couple years.

I have registered many complaints to the FCC about unwanted calls. Here is the standard message I receive from them on each complaint......

[FONT=Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial]Thank you for contacting the FCC regarding possible violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) and the Commission’s telemarketing and junk fax rules. Information provided in consumer complaints like yours helps the Commission to combat abusive or unlawful practices in these areas, including taking enforcement actions against individuals or companies. In this regard, the Communications Act authorizes the Commission to issue citations and, in some cases, impose substantial fines upon entities that violate telemarketing and junk fax rules.

[FONT=Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial]Although the Commission does not resolve individual complaints, each complaint is individually analyzed and assists us in enforcement actions to protect consumers like yourself. You should be aware that the TCPA also provides for enforcement of the telemarketing and junk fax rules by state attorneys general and by individual consumers. With respect to the latter, the TCPA permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for each violation.

[FONT=Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial]We invite you to visit the FCC’s Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau’s Internet web site at http://www.fcc.gov/cgb for more information. You may also call the FCC’s Consumer Center toll free at 1-888-CALL-FCC [1-888-225-5322], TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC [1-888-835-5322].

The Do Not Call thing is Bogus- They still call and Now its the Robo Calls:yikes:

1-"Do you know Federal officials state a Home is broken into every minute? Call us at xxx-xxx-xxxx for your FREE home security system!!!"":roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: How Many get this call at Home???:dontknow:

I have noticed that there are usually a few things that make the fake stuff stand out.

There is a sense or urgency or calamity involved.

They usually ask you to pass it on to others.

A handy dandy phone # or website is given--which is usually collecting whatever information they can.

Remember the "evil" computer program that you were supposed to delete from your Windows files--that was supposedly sent to you as a virus? If you did, it crashed your computer.

Three within the last two weeks. It starts out with "Don't hang up, we are not trying to sell you something, we just want to put a sign in your front yard", yeah right. That sign says "break into this house, they have XYZ home security". And then there are the calls from "mortgage" companies wanting me to refinance my VA home loan. I don't have a VA home loan.

I don't answer any calls on my cell phone if i don't recognize the callers number, :dontknow:
How doe's the saying go, Curiosity killed the cat, !

Do Not Call

Just this week I received two robo-calls from attorneys who were trolling for clients. One said I may be eligible for part of billions set aside to settle asbestos cases and the other was involving birth defects. Then there's the one that replaced Rachel about my "account." Of course I'm also happy to learn that the FBI has compiled statistics about all the break-ins in my neighborhood!
