do i need a juice box

Hi gang, just installed two hayabusa scorpion mufflers on my spyder one each side looks great....

i noticed that most of you guy's when you modify your exaust's, you add the juice box!!!!
my spyder seem's to be running just the same as before the change our am i missing something...
next change is the greeny + Kool air intake...

anyway's do you think i need a juice box????

What I've read on here in previous posts is that you typically need a JB or equivalent when you install a performance intake/air filter plus an aftermarket exhaust. An aftermarket exhaust alone does not typically require the JB.

When you free up the intake/exhaust it effectively leans out the fuel/air mix. Like most vehicles these days, the Spyder runs lean to start with. So it dosn't take much to get it leaner than is good.

Adjusted correctly, the JB puts the mix back to where it should have been to start with.

Come on guys, peer pressure is the best way to go. Those of us with a juice box think it works great and you should get one too....I mean, we're all doing it!

There...let's see how that settles.

I will say that my bike does run considerably better with the JB tuned in...

Both sides of the coin are true. The JB will make just about any Spyder run better because they run too lean for optimum performance and fuel mileage.

But with a stock or minimum mod bike the improvement may be minimal and not worth the expenditure.

As you add mods you push the sliding scale towards a fuel modification system of some sort. The tipping point is different for everyone.

I am very happy with the JB. I am sure it has improved my Spyder and with the mods I've made it was necessary as well.

Once they get the kinks worked out of the Power Commander I'll be jumping ship and getting one--- with the auto-tune and other goodies.

If I didn't have the JB right now---- I would wait and take a look at the Power Commander or Juice Box Pro.

BRP rep tells me that any modification done on a spyder that is not brp approved parts is like opening a can of worm's with the waranty and they will not pay for repairs....

Tell the BRP rep that BY LAW they have to prove that the mods caused the problem. Also tell the rep that you will use his statement in court to prove that brp intends to break that law. See what he says then.

right, but his argument is that its righten in the owners manuel, there protected

You may want to note that Venom lives in Canada. I expect they have a similar law to the Magnuson-Moss act that we have here in the States, but I would not make any assumptions unless I knew the exact details.

It's 'they're', not 'there'...anyway...

Check with the laws in your area (consumer laws)...it's unlikely that any mod. will null your warranty unless it's been proven to cause your problem...

For example, you get a JB...then, a few weeks later, your steering goes out...they really can't link the two so good luck with voiding your warranty...

However, laws prevail...check with other Canadians to see what they know...
