• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Do Dealers Really Rent Spyders for Weekends?

As it states on can-am's website?

I am thinking of purchasing an RS-S but want to rent it first, shop around a bit - is renting the right choice?

Any other spyder owners in LA? I've seen 2 around here but only saw them once and never again (maybe test ride from the dealer in Simi Valley?). I live in the Valley.

My dealer has a couple rental :spyder2:,s. An RS and an RT. But, we are a little far away from you. If you find rentals, you may not be able to rent the exact model and version that you want.

My dealer rents for 1/2, 1, 3 or 7 days & if you buy one the rental is deducted from the price.

It ain't cheap though. Between $1200 - $1350 + taxes per week depending on the model.

I rented from eagle rider (they rent bikes all ver the country) when my girlfriend and I started looking at them figured we could beat the snot outta it for the weekend give it a proper thrashing and walk away with a solid idea of "do we like it" before putting down that type of $$$
That weekend sealed the deal period  it was to blankity blanking fun
go rent one its a great idea

That's what I'm thinking as well - since this is no 10K and is a pretty large chunk of change. Looking at Eagle Rider, maybe I'll rent from them - thanks for the tip.

I figured dealers would probably be more.

Rental prices will not be real cheap on :spyder2:'s. There is a high cost to repair, and--you know how rental vehicles are sometimes treated. :roflblack:

I have an RS rented for a day (24 hours) on Maui for $225.00. Thought that was not to bad considering its a spyder. I believe the regular bikes like HD rent for a little less.

Yeah 2 rental places are about $250/day.

Seems like the only way to test drive a Spyder since dealers don't, unless it's demo days. nojoke

Rentals are not cheap, but I arranged with my dealer, that if we bought after renting, they would reimburse the rental. And it is cheaper, then buying and then finding out it is not right for you! JMHO.
