Display blanking out on startup
had this issue where the computer would basically reboot when you hit the start button. sometimes it would go dead and the bike would start and it would reboot and be fine.
thought it was the fuse box (tapped it before and it fixed it and the Spyder started up normally (this was after the display had went totally dead and no response at all from bike..) I almost had it towed at that time.... Rode it straight to the dealer, Spyder had no codes when I brought it in at that time... they thought reprogramming for DPS recall might fix it. no luck..
Well I hit the start button with seat up and saw a spark... followed it to the bolt next to the fuse box under seat. there a wire is grounded to the bolt. found the bolt really lose :yikes: tightened the bolt and no more issue :2thumbs:
Just an FYI if someone has this issue in the future to check the grounding bolt under seat next to fuse box under the seat. It was not the bolt on the battery but one that you can see when raising the seat right next to the small fuse box under where the tool kit is...
