There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Disappointing trip

Mind you, the trip was disappointing ONLY in that, in nearly 800 miles, we only saw two other Spyders (and they were RSs from Ontario :yikes:).

Aside from that,
  • Hwy 41 from Chattanooga to Nashville was a great ride,
  • N'ville to ClevelandTN via, Watertown-Smithville-Smyrna-Pikeville, another great ride
  • ClevelandTN-McCaysvilleGA-??? more great riding.
  • followed by the metropolitan NE ATL run to home. (I was tired at this point and just wanted to be home.)

:thumbup::thumbup: You had us going there for a while. The new camper looks like it did a good job for you.

Glad you had a great and safe ryde. Same thing here, went on a short (130 miles) ride on Saturday. Total bikes seen 40--Spyders 0.

You all are ryding in the wrong places obviously....Seems like everytime the wife and I go out for a ryde, we see at least one or two :ani29: sometimes more...But then again we do live near the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway and other twisty roads...Saw a Silver :spyder2: one yesterday. They (the Silver :spyder2:) had stopped at the HD store :hun:there in Tellico Plains, before you get up onto the Cherohala Skyway...

Seldom very Seldom

I very rarely see another Spyder (any model) when I am out ryding. When I do see one I get so excited that I wave and gesture like a crazyyyyyy person...:yikes:. Getting ready to head out Thurs a.m. for last several day ryde of season...going over a MT pass...will pick which one Thurs a.m.....headed to San Juans and around peninsula. Rain, wind, etc. won't create any issues for Ms Spyder or me...but that dang snow just puts the fear in me...so worse case if I get over the MT but can't get back I can drop down to the Columbia River head east and work my way back home avoiding the higher eleveations....more ryding...not a bad idea.
Remember to plan on Spyderfest...see lots of Spyders there, but I have to admit last year as I headed to MO I never saw another until I got within a few miles of Cuba...had almost decided I was lost or that Spyderfest was some one jerking my chain!!!!:joke:
Everyone have a great day...your choice...

Sounds like a great trip!! Love the camper!! Sounds like the RT owners are becoming snobs toward us RS (GS) owners... wow!! :roflblack::roflblack::joke:

NoSpyders as well

We spent the weekend in Charlotte, a city of not inconsiderable size, and saw not one Roadster. Then again on a round trip South Carolina to Missouri, didn't see one 'till Cowtown. Hmph!

:congrats: on the 5000 miles. Went on a 175 mile ryde Saturday, and only saw two spyders. A RT and a RS, lot of sport bikes and H-D's, and two trikes. Sad thing was the two spyders was the group I rode with.

Ok, let's see if I can do this.

joe schmoe - We just didn't make it that far north in eastern TN this trip. Maybe another day.

Weave2u - No discrimination in our family The Flock.jpg

Desert Spyder - Bunkhouse Queen

Hawk - Thanks, pin has been submitted for.

joe schmoe - For original owners only, go to your CAN-AM/BRP profile and in the lower left side of you profile is where you submit for 5K, 25K and 100K pins. Then, you wait, and wait, and wait. If you haven't registered, need to do that. Even if on used spyder.

Thanks, I will get the wife (Betty Boop) to do that...She is half way to 5K already with 2500 since August!! I think she likes her Spyder! :doorag:

How did your RT do towing the trailer? Did you ride 2 up? Was the trailer loaded or empty? Is your RT a manual clutch? Gas mileage?

We found that riding two up and towing the loaded trailer, although it hindered acceleration quite a bit, could run the speed limit with no trouble. Gas mileage was around 23-27 mpgs.

Dar - Bunkhouse Queen
pros - It tows nicely with the RT, queen size mattress, dry weight #285 (note: RT is rated at #400 towing capacity),
cons - not as big as our old Coleman and no galley
Draboo - How did your RT do towing the trailer? I don't have trailer brakes so slowing took a little bit but I expected and allowed for it.
Did you ride 2 up? yep
Was the trailer loaded or empty? Loaded. (chairs, screen room, table, ice chest, hot water pot, suitcases) (try to keep under the #400s)
Is your RT a manual clutch? no, SE5 in 'Trailer Mode'
Gas mileage? About what you experienced. I didn't check specifically, just guesstimation.

Holy smokes! This trailer costs LESS than the BRP cargo trailer? Why isn't that a surprise?

Ours is an Aspen Sentry, towed behind a manual clutch Spyder. Other than that, about the same experience. About 280# empty, we travel loaded, take farther to brake (and accelerate) and it knocks down fuel mileage about 3-5 mpg. Sets up in minutes, nice queen bed, and tows nicely. The Bunkhouse and the Aspen by Trailmaster seem to be the main contenders in motorcycle tent trailers, although there are others.
