There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. i put the baffles back on the airbox to hear more of hindle and less of air-intake but performance dropped off so i have connected a hose to the end of the baffle and ran it toward front. i need a scoop to pick up more fresh air and service writer at my dealer thinks he has scoop off of a bmw he can dig out. he will call me tomorrow.

by the way, airbox was clean as a whistle with ken's air filter. no dirt on upper side of airbox at all.

Take the fog light out and run the intake tube there... that's what I did... oh yea... there wasn't a fog light in mine. :ohyea:

Seriously, might check for a small scoop to mount on the panel just above/behind the light opening. Maybe Lamonster remembers where he got his. (That was about 137 mods ago, so I wouldn't bet on it!):dontknow:

He might give you a good deal on the "lampshade" mod that is probably sitting around his shop. :D :D :joke:

I used stainless steel marine vents for mine - one on each side.

The tubing running down the side looks really good in person, so so much better than the pic. Gonna try to find a black plastic scoop to match the plastic on the spyder.

There should be enough room to run it inside.

If you really want some room you can remove the airbox (put the race airflow system in). I did this and have dual 3" cold air intake vents feeding the rotax via 3" duct hose.

Hey Firefly, you got some pics of that setup?

I put the race airflow in tonight, will see how it runs on the trip to Leesburg tomorrow. Seemed fine for the short test run I did tonight. There is a loud knocking type sound when I put on the throttle, is that normal?

heres a pic of my Evoluzione Racing Air Filter boy this thing adds some get up and go to my SE5 big time that and my juicebox and venom exhaust :) i bet i got 120hp and 95foot pounds of torque i know it pushed my butt back in the seat when i give it some gas :).........Michael

Hey Spyderdog,
I did notice some extra kick, and my juicebox is on the way, should land on Mon-Tuesday. It is way louder now for sure, but just at throttle, kind of bugs me, normal cruise is fine, although I was hoping by putting this one it would have fixed my surging /sputtering issues I keep having. So far I have tried the O2 eliminator and now this racing exhaust. I am pretty sure its some kind of fuel issue, so maybe, just maybe I can find some happiness with the juice.

Yes - that noise is normal - you're just hearing the intake noise now that it's more open.

Earplugs help!

i can not find a decent looking scoop:(
i am just not getting enough air without it. i am liking hearing hindle more than the intake noise but performance suffers....
what to do. what to do.

What about this oil in the air box..what happens then when you use the evoluzine race air filter?:dontknow:

With the Race Airflow System the airbox (oilbox-lol) is removed and the breather hose plugs into the new stack unit - which sends the blow-by oil right into the throttle bodies.

If you're talking about their replacement air filter unit that just goes into the stock airbox - then the oil problem is still there.

How do I solve the oil in the air box problem?

How do I solve the oil in the air box problem?
For me, it was quite simple. I discovered that if I don't fill the oil tank more than half way on the dipstick (between marks when checked by recommended method) I don't use any oil OR get more than a light mist in my airbox.

By the way, when I check the oil COLD, the oil just touches the bottom of the dipstick. If it is ABOVE this level it WILL send the oil into the airbox. This appears to be why it used to USE oil, but no longer does. I was keeping the oil toped up to the top line when checked using the recommended method and the level would drop untill it reached the point I now keep it at, then stay there.

Before I get flamed, I KNOW this dosn't seem to make logical sense on a dry sump system, but it is the way it works in my testing experience.

Make sure and keep checking your oil the proper way listed in the manual.

Some have installed a 'sponge' into the breather line tube, some have installed an oil-catch system. You can buy a cheap motorcycle oil catch unit for around $50 online - they all work pretty much the same way.
