I have been watching the digital gas gauge pretty close now since I changed over from the analog gauges.
Here is a final summary.
Yesterday: We rode 180 miles round trip--after filling both gas tanks. I was down to one bar and pulled into my driveway (180 miles) before the gas light went on. Akspyderlady was down to zero bars and the light went on about 10 miles before we reached the driveway.
It is another 5 miles to the gas station to refuel in the morning before going on another ride.
The final reading was 184.9 miles when we refueled. Akspyderlady's took 5.2 gallons for 35.56 miles per gallon. Mine took 5.3 gallons for 34.89 miles per gallon. Stretching out the mileage based on 34 miles per gallon and 6 gallons usable gas--I should be able to go 204 miles before the tank runs out--however, I feel that is stretching the luck a little bit. I am okay with 180 or so--If I have to. My usual fill up is 125 to 150 miles.
