• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Differences in alignments

I know everyone is excited and extremely happy with the new outlaw laser alignment and what a difference in handling . Unfortunately I have no one available to do the new laser alignment within 500 miles and the tires are really starting to wear on the insides .

My question is , what is the difference whether it's done from the tire or frame providing the tire is correctly aligned to the frame before starting the alignment ? All this assuming that the tech doing the alignment actually makes certain both are true with each other .

ROLO takes all measurements from the exact center of the hub over a distance of two vehicle lengths. When you use the tire, you would have to ensure that the measurement is being taken from the exact same spot on each tire. And if your targets are very far apart, a very small error could make a difference. So, the width of the tire has to be exactly the same (both have to have responded in the same way to the inflation pressure), if one is out of round, it could cause an issue, etc.

In all the bykes I have seen and heard about only a tiny few would not have benefited from a Rolo alignment. Obviously those whose alignment was worse saw more improvement.

I am one of the Rolo independent dealers. My wife and I are touring the US this summer and we will be in the Indianapolis area in the latter part of May, and later on we will be stopping in the Port Clinton Ohio area. Those are a bit of a drive for you, but if you are interested we can try to help you out.

BRP is also recommending to their dealerships that they get the ROLO system so that may be of assistance to you.

Measuring

Ok , big difference between using tire or hub. That was where I wasn't sure. Nothing is mounted to rear axles , only take measurements from the rim.

I finally refound the ROLO video and watched it and now have a question about the toe in / out procedure. If you only change adj on one side and both sides are out of adj , which I assume mine are because both tires are wearing bad on inside , how do you compensate for that ? I'm probably making it more complicated than what it really is or did I miss where it said one side good and one side bad?Is it possible for both to be out of alignment ? Bear with my ignorance .

..Not an expert But.....Spyders have separate adjustments for each side of the front suspension so one or both sides could be out of alignment......or neither, but that is un-likely Mike

Maximum Powersports in Puru, IN is an authorized ROLO dealer. They just got their system a couple of weeks ago. I believe they're 225 miles from you and they charge $120.00 for their alignment. You may want to consider a BRP dealer for the alignment.

Destination

Just found out today going thru old posts that there's a dealer in Lexington Ky that does the ROLO and I may end up going there although the Ind. location isn't that far away either.Going to KY gives me a chance to drive a section nice twistys for awhile and I can compare the difference both ways. I know it's ging to be a noticable difference coming back.

Thanks to everyone that responded. Now to get the weather to be able to ride.

I believe the video just showed one side as an example. If both sides are out of spec, and they usually are, both will be adjusted.
