RT-S PE#0412
This Test ride should have been two segments, one featuring the Roadster Sport
,and one featuring the Roadster Touring. I am a little biased toward the RT and only
demoed the RS. But the RS has been out 2 years and has a different appeal. The
motocross riders were cast perfect for the fast paced wind in your face dueling through
the canyons, but I don't want wind in my face (unless it's a nice warm day)
nor do I want an aggressively powerful bike like I need to take
on other machines on the road to be king or to have
the ultimate experience. What a missed opportunity to show that Two people can
ride on the same bike and have a wonderful exhilarating experience with music blaring
and wind in your face when you want it.
And when you were in Lake Tahoe, no mention of heated grips for Ryder or passenger.
Or that the fairing can go up and down to block the elements. That must have been in
the footage that was cut
I too was disappointed, if they took like 40+ hours of video, then the producer/ editor was
probably at fault. Should of hired one of us to view and edit. But the scenery was
beautiful for a travel show endorsement!
I was expecting a more natural showcase of the bike. I wouldn't have even shown the side
by side bike. (that's for another episode)
I guess if you are gonna have motocross champs riding they are too use to having there
knees touch the ground.
This would have been an excellent opportunity to showcase the differences of the two
bikes. First half of show should have been with the cycle champs, riding with helmet cams
and switching the camera view between each other at the same time as there in helmet audio feed, saying/
explaining the sensation or feeling they are experiencing. Give the viewer a REAL test ride.
The jokes and laughing were pretty lame. ( my wife always knows when I fake a laugh), and
theirs was easy to pick out too.
Not sure when this was made, but BRP on the next test ride should utilize All 3 Road touring
machines. They can use mine since I have the Garmin GPS, the CB comm center and the
XM radio. I will do this if they give me the BRP communication helmet to show the
functionality and how it is interlaced with the over all experience.
So over all I was thinking this was gonna be a comprehensive look at a very unique bike.
I mean not one pan of the RTS dash with all the bells and whistles.
What this test ride had NO TWO up :hun::dontknow: So we got half a test ride. I mean
if you test ride a jeep, you better showcase it off road doin what it was designed to do.
No offense Fred Rau, but you said your wife wouldn't let you? I understand
exchanging #'s with Natalie could be tempting, and I agree she doesn't need to ride back
to NY with you but how about her hopping on the back or you for that matter a couple
of miles down the coast for a narrative of the feel and
perspective as a passenger. Could have been very interesting.
Ok, I will come clean. Fred I have said the same thing that you did when they asked me
,
" I am sorry but my wife won't let me!"
I loved the map destination coverage, I gotta take that same trip now from Tahoe
over to San Francisco and then down the Coast to the Rock Store in Agoura Hills,
not Malibu.:lecturef_smilie: I guess a little bit of Journal sensationalism.
So over all I was thinking this was gonna be a comprehensive look at a very unique
bike. Heck, people still don't know you can pull another 22 cubic feet of stuff!
or better yet, in orbital blue with blue skies
I bet it was alot of fun to put together and although it was mentioned to be fun safe
and stable and they did ride on snow rain and dry twisty pavements.
The last segment trying to intertwine modified spyders or half a million dollar porshe's
and muscle cars should have been for a follow up segment. Just like why am I posting
these pics,..... cuz I can
ahhh, home again.
