• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Did you get your DPS done yet?

Yes sometimes going into a corner fast and really have to push the steering so hard it is a bit of a panic.
Are BRP doing this for free? Even if I am not the original owner.
Certainly takes a lot of confidence away from me.
When it is working it is great but when it fails it is scary.
Then the next corner it works when you are expecting it not to work and nearly run off the road.

It can get much worse: The power steering won't work, you put a lot of input into it to make the turn, the power steering kicks in without warning and makes you oversteer. I had this problem repeatedly and it was one fo the motivating factors in me sellign my first Soyder. Of course a couple of months later BRP admitted they had a problem and recalled them all. A LOT of the original SPyders never had this problem.

I would get that to a dealer and have it fixed at their expense. The bike is way too dangerous like it is. You can pull the fuse for the DPS and drive it without any assist which is actually safer. You only need DPS at slow speeds.

Mine was already replaced in 2010 when they recalled it. Now the DPS code is on all the time and can am won't fix it. So... I have to trailer it 5 hours away and pay for the new repair. Jeesh

There was a member here that had his dps replaced about 2 weeks ago and his spyder was out of the original BRP warranty period and it was done at no charge. He also had his original dps replaced under the recall a while ago.

Is your dealer saying it is actually the dps? If it isn't the dps, maybe that's why you have to pay. Good luck.

That's the problem. I have no dealer near me. However, the one I talked to said my bike was out of warranty and if it is the DPS out, more than likely can am will not replace it at their cost again. I won't know for sure until I take it 5 hours away and they hook it up and then go from there

Contact the NHTSA. I think they may have a different opinion on hwo should pay for the repair of a safety design flaw.

As I remember the New DPS had an auto matic 2 Year Warranty with it when replaced- Thats why I waited till this past March on my 09GS. BRP should replace it even if its over 2 Years since replacement- If Not-Shame on THEM!!!!!!!nojoke
