There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Did the dealership install the wrong oil filter?

Hello,

I hope you folks can put my mind at ease here. Last season I took my new '24 RT Limited in for its 3,000 mile service. Following that service, I had an unrelated issue with the Spyder that this dealer could not (or would not) resolve. Fortunately, I found a far more capable service department at another dealership. Fast forward to today, it's time for an oil change. I had already ordered a new genuine BRP oil filter p/n 420956747. When I removed the old oil filter, it was open on both ends unlike the new one, and it was stamped "956744"

My first reaction was that I must have ordered the wrong one, but when I did some research, everything points to the the incorrect filter being installed at the prior service. Since my confidence in that dealer is lacking, I am hoping that the experts here can tell me that either one is equally acceptable. Right now, my concern is that my oil has not been getting filtered properly.

Thanks!

Heard of some being installed backwards & even heard of the oil being sucked out (like a boat motor) and not drained via the plug so the sediments are drained. I'm sorry, but I don’t know the 1330 well enough yet to answer your question honestly!

I sure hope you did not install that new filter. The 420956747 is for the 998 V-Twin. You need part # 420956744 for your 1330 motor. Sounds like the correct filter was installed by the dealership.

If you did install that new filter, you need to get it out of there right away.

Thank you for the prompt reply and no, I did not install the new filter. I see now I got my numbers crossed when I originally ordered it. Much appreciated!
That is good news! And actually, if I'd been thinking (Which I try to avoid these days). I would have realized that there was no danger of you installing that wrong filter. Because you CAN'T install the filter you have as the 1330 requires a filter open at both ends!

Have a Great Memorial Holiday Weekend!
