• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DESS Update

I love my RT. It has not given me any issues, but i have started posting messages concerning these types of issues anywhere i can. I and almost everyone who has been in business is held responsible and given a chance to succeed or fail. I don't really care about BRP as a company either way. If they fail it's their own fault. It seems a lot of folks on here give BRP a pass. Why should we? Fine if a product is out of warranty a company doesn't have to do ANYTHING but they should be held to task for issues that go year after year without getting fixed. The only way is to let the FREE market make or kill the the business. This nonsense has to stop. Wake up people. And yes i will sell MY RT and make sure i let everyone know how much BRP sucks as a company. Another will take it's place sooner or later.

I am planning yet another several thousand mile, multi-week trip on our Spyders.

Riding is much more fun than not. BRP does not get a pass. I hold them to their obligations. I also realize that at the moment there is no real competition. As such, I'd rather ride than worry about what is not mine to change.

Mr. Rohaianan I see you have been here quite awhile and been through lots of the ups and downs and I think you ( more than most ) have a better perspective on BRP..... I agree with most of what you said but the reality here is you are :bdh::bdh:and :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: .... This is the land of KOOL - Aid drinkers my friend. I have loved all my Spyders ( 3 ) and will die with one for sure. But I - like you am not blind to the fact that when something constantly FAILS it needs to be corrected. And the builder has to be held accountable and not given a PASS........Because if the builder thinks EVERYONE is Happy -- NOTHING WILL CHANGE -- I think everyone has forgotten that BRP was SUED by the US Govt. .....and that's what got the 2013's fixed ........Certainly not the people who were blindly Complimenting BRP for everything they were doing ......So to you Mr. Rohaianan :clap::clap:........Mike

The free market is imperfect. It allows the biggest and toughest players to survive and they often are the ones with inferior products. Beta max was technologically superior to VHS, but it lost. OS/2 was a superior operating system to Windows. It got squashed. Allis-Chalmers, International, and Farmall equipment were some of the best. John Deere crushed them. Saturn was a superior quality automobile. The internal market of GM quashed them. Douglas Aircraft built great airplanes. They are no more.

The free market does very little to promote the success of superior products. It only assures that the one with the superior marketing skills is the one who wins. Superior marketing focuses on only one principle, sucker the customer into buying by whatever means works.

If your bike has given you no trouble at all: where is this outrage coming from?

It's coming from the fact that TIME is the only un-renewable resource. I spent time to save to buy my RT. A resource that companies like BRP don't show appreciation for. They show further disdain for their committed and loyal customers as you sir, seem to be. Good for you and all of us who enjoy an innovative fun product. But I can't help but remember the famous line from the movie Network " I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE" Good day to all.

Talking with the service manager at my Spyder dealership yesterday and he told me that they've replaced the DESS module on 14 RTs...and twice on at least one of them. They all were 2014s.

Thank you. Hey I get it. I live in the real world. It's just really gets to me that since this product line was introduced there have been issues with poor design that have not been fixed many times year after year. That's simply the reflection of not caring. Japanese car companies in my experience go out of their way to take care of their customers. Let's face it next time anyone is driving look at the ratio of Asian cars to American cars out on the road. You think American want that? I would love to buy an American car but I simply don't get the customer service from them that I get from the Asian manufacturers. So be it I came from the HD side to this one. If I don't feel it was a good choice I will switch again. Nothing personal. I will pay more than 4x what I need to get an oil change, accessories, service. I will enjoy my new "TOY" for as long as I can enjoy this unique, and satisfying machine. When that no longer is the case I will part with the RT, wipe my feet on the mat and move on. By the way I have been a supporter and reader of this forum for a long time. I don't write in much because I learn from all the folks in this forum. But when I do it's because I see the trends on here both good and bad. Good day to all.

Well I guess there's only one thing to do now, and that is to sell your Spyder and free yourself from the pain and agony that has been thrust upon you by the evil dark lords from the Great White North! It is sad when people force you to by their product by casting an evil spell on you that leaves you unable to make informed decisions. I am sure that even though you say that you have had no issues with your RT, you are just sparing us from having to hear of all the blood chilling issues that have frustrated you to the point where you have no choice but to sell the decrepit pile of manure to the person who will give you the most money for it! May be its time to buy that 1972 Ford Pinto you always wanted! Wishing you good luck and prosperity!;)

PS with regards to Asian car companies, don't forget that Toyota drug ther feet for quite a while as their happy customers were driving into brick walls with a sticky accelerator,a d bot those folks sure make a great Airbag! Point being all manufacturers are subject to design issues, this is not unique to BRP. So make sure you run off to those "Asian Car" forums a rant on that for a while!

Pirate says what? argumentum ad hominem tu quoque. Because you are looking out for BRP interests the stock has gone up $0.78 Canadian. Way to look out for your portfolio... you have just proved my point. Thanks for the well wishes of luck and prosperity. I certainly don't have to worry about yours. I'm out.

Are You Serious.jpg

One could just as easily argue that you're actually working for:
BMW/Harley-Davidson/Honda/Indian/Kawasaki/Suzuki/Triumph/Yamaha, and are trying to drive DOWN the inherent values of the Spyder...
