• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Don't worry Mike: anybody can make a typing "Miss-Steak"...
And I've been guilty of most of them! :opps:
The Dentist?
I hope that everything is okay...

EDIT: Apparently my short-term memory is going faster than I thought. It is the 4916 they're ordering; not 4190.

4916 is the part number they're trying to order; so far it's still on a slow boat from Canada. BRP's TSB (apparently there is one) doesn't include the ignition switch.

Thanks Deanna
Would you post the part # for the ignition switch that you get. I am curious on what that part # will be.

Deanna

I apologize for my TYPO, I was in a rush this am to get to the dentist ( no excuse ) and transposed the last two numbers :banghead::banghead::banghead: ....The correct Module is # 710004916 ........Mike

:lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie: You should know better than typing in a rush... :lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Remember those famous words from "Down Periscope". :D
When you rush; that's when accidents happen.

It went to a guy near Hickory NC. Nice guy and his buddy is a member here on SL. Just picked up a brand new left over 2014 Honda CB1100. I'll be out playing on the Blue Ridge Parkway tomorrow. I'll do an "Exit Post" with the reasons that I sold the RT, I've Hi Jacked this thread enough.
Sent pm. Deanna

Got your PM, I get the message. I will not post in your thread ever again. I went through all 22 pages and deleted all of my post's, hope I didn't miss any. I wish you and all the other owners the best with the DESS issue. No need to send me another PM.

Sam

Just got back from having my DESS module replaced. Part # is 710004916. Problem is, how long do you go without an error showing up before you declare it "fixed?"

I'll update the thread if something happens again.

...It's FIXED....what the concern is, since this MODULE has been re-vised a number of times because the " REVISION " didn't work ..............only time will tell whether this will be the one that finally ENDS the problem............I now have 3400 miles on the same Module you just received ......I got an " ORANGE KEY FLASH " a few hundred miles ago......But NOT the Full DESS failure Mode .......So I continue to ride, but remain aware of where I'm going and when I'm travelling.....Mike :dontknow:

Kinda like asking how long to wait after a black powder misfire ;)
Had both the DESS module and the Ignition switch been replaced, I'd say don't worry about it.

If you're a pessimist, 5 years! If you're an optimist, 2 days!

It will be 1 year (at the end of August) for me since I have had the 2nd DESS module replaced Part # 710004190. Also, I have had the Switch replaced @ the same time( part # 710004413). Deanna

How much is that in miles, since it was replaced?

I have roughly 13, 279 miles on my spyder now( give)as of 7/5/16.

I had the dess/switch replaced @ 8,740 miles on Aug. 28,2015. So I have roughly 4,539 miles on the dess/switch. Deanna

My DESS Mdoule Replaced at 849 miles----here is the information

Just had my DESS Module replaced on a 2015 RT-Limited with only 849 miles on it.

The OLD Module #710004241

The NEW Module #710004916

For those of you keeping track and trying to see a common thread through all of this.

Hopefully this will be the ONLY issue for us with the DESS Module.

Thanks to all who helped during this issue!

:D
