• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DESS Error - Key (One more question)

I you get the Dess error code again................. try this: Turn your key on/off immediately and DO NOT LET THE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN for 4/5 cycles. The above info I got from my dealership. Deanna

That was exactly what I did, turn the key on/off and the bike started right away, thank you.

Deanna, are you saying - off/on, off/on, off/on, off/on and it should be OK? ....or am I misinterpreting this?
Peteoz, that is what I am saying.

Also, you are not misinterpreting it.

My dealership mention that to me, when I had the dess module/and ignition switch replaced( 2nd time Aug. 28, 2015). Deanna

I'm sure Deanna will get back to you in due course, she is usually pretty good that way, but in the meantime, that's pretty much the way of it Pete - altho maybe you could add just one more off/on!
Peter, Yes, I do get back, when I get a chance. :2thumbs: Deanna

Well Robin from BRP provided me with a BRP case number for my DESS error (key). I contacted the dealer and asked them if they could order the parts prior for me to go to my appointment next week. They do acknowledged the BRP case in the computer. I was told, that the tech still must troubleshoot the bike, and at that time, they can order the parts needed. WTF!!! That means I will be out without my bike for at least a good week or more. :cus:

..............IMHO ....... and probably others .... " troubleshoot the bike " is pure BS ..... All that needs to done is to plug into BUDS ...10 minutes at most ........ The plug is EASY access under that black cover below the Right front headlight .... Don't accept the HOOEY they are throwing ........ good luck ...... Mike

I am in Northern VA, we only have other than 2 Coleman Powersports stores in the area. Same owner. I do not have a choice other than to accept HOOEY. Maybe Robin from BRP will update my case number and direct Coleman to order the parts now.

Here is the BRP response in regards to my email this morning, stating that if they could push the dealer to order parts. (Added my email??)

Hi Daniel,

I totally understand your situation. I've reopened your case - 00785235 - and I've added your email to it.
You should hear back from us or your dealer in the next 5 working days. If you don't hear from them, plese contact them and mention your case number.

How many times I should have a DESS error for the key before the dealer will replace parts. I asked because in 3 months I had the error twice. I have 4,000 miles in my 2016 F3 Limited. I do not want to take the bike, and have the dealer to keep it for a week to tell me well it only happens twice, why not wait. Thanks you.

When you get the third same error code in a row you need to check with the BBB web site and get the lemon law started in the state of Virginia. I went through this with my 2015 Chevy Colorado and it was replaced with a 2016 Colorado.
