• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have a 2014 RT Ltd that I have all the Tupperware off at the moment (adding some farkles) and all of a sudden I am getting a DESS error on the screen and it won't start. Just have it towed to the dealer or is there something I should be looking at myself? Thanks!

I believe the DESS error is for a bad key. Have you turned off the key, removed it and walked away for a few minutes and then returned and tried to start it?

Oh yeah, the neighbor is wondering why I keep walking in and out of the garage. And I also tried my spare key with the same results.

Bummer..!!

the 14's had an ignition problem. Dealer needs to change that out for you. Try all keys you have but more than likely you will have to have them fix you up. :gaah:

Well, isn't that just a stroke of luck in the dead of winter with two feet of snow on the ground! :(

Just this afternoon I had this same problem in Walmart parking lot. Tried several times to turn off and back on. No luck. Finally out of desperation, I pushed in on key like I was going to open seat or frunk (a few times) and lo-and-behold, error went away. Can't be sure if that was the absolute cure, but my dealer said there is a service bulletin on this and he will get back to me after he investigates.

Same thing here.

Also have a 2014 RTL. Just had 3000 mile service. Service guys checked key configuration because some were getting stuck in ignition but no problem for mine. Left work last night and got the dreaded DESS orange screen. No start. Oh crap.:banghead: Thanks to the AWESOME spyder codes app , I knew what it was and walked away multiple times with the same result. No start. Called the dealer who offered to send out a tow this morning because they were about to close. Drove back this morning with the extra key and it started, no problemo. Left truck and drove bike home. Started it again with original key. Spoke with shop and not aware of bulletin related to DESS. Said they would contact Can-Am. Problem is...I don't want to be halfway to San Diego in the desert and have a recurrence at a rest stop. What's a ryder to do? Any ideas or fixes folks?
