On 5/8/16 I addressed a thread to Steve (BRPCare) asking for some specific information about the reality of the DESS issue. As expected, no answer was ever received. (a real surprise)
Based on information posted on this forum, I thought my problem might have been caused by the FOB for my wife's Nissan. As it turns out that was not the case. It happened again twice today. FOB was not with me at the time.
Somewhere in all of the documentation on this issue it was suggested that cycling the ignition 4 or 5 times without letting the system shut down might be a way to get things going again. I did it both times (5 cycles), then shut the system down and pulled the key. I sat on the bike while doing this and when pulled, the key was only a couple of feet from the ignition switch. When the key was re-inserted into the ignition, all was well. The code was gone and the bike started just fine. Anybody else tried this? Did it work for you? The only common thread in the three failures was that the bike was sitting in fairly busy parking lots when the failure occurred. :dontknow:
