• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Desperate for backrest measurements

I have a 2013 ST Ltd with the non adjustable passenger back rest. I am desperate to find out if the adjustable backrest moves any farther back. If I can't move the backrest, I am going to be forced to sell my Spyder, as we just don't fit it.
Can someone please crank theirs back and give me a measurement to the tip of the seat?
i would really appreciate it.

Measurement

From the front of the seat to the base of the metal on the backrest with it fully retracted backwards measures 81cm or 32".

I have just measured it again from the front of the seat to the middle of the backrest and that's 78cm or 31", that's with the tape measure at a slight incline.

Thank you so much

Thank you so much. Could you measure from the front of the seat to the front of the backrest pad itself?

Thanks again, I will check in the morning with my fingers crossed!

Backrest adjustment..!!

on our RS 2012..with the back rest all the way forward..front front of seat to mid backrest 30" with backrest all the way back 32". There are other backrests. Look into smoothspyders. He has one that will work for the passenger and also flip to work for the driver when solo. Don't know the measurments on that one. He is a sponsor on the home page...

I have a 2013 STS and added a SmoothSpyder backrest. I just went out and measured from the front of the seat to the middle of the backrest and it is 32". Now, there are a couple of tweaks you can do further, depending on your objectives. With the SmoothSpyder backrest you can move the seat back up and down vertically, as well as, angle it. So, you could possibly squeeze another 1/2" or so based on seating position, etc.

Hope this helps you keep your Spyder!!

Thanks for the info
