• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Depreciation

This may sound trite, but it's not what you've got in them that matters... it's what you get out of them when riding that's important!:2thumbs::thumbup::spyder:

well what about the price difference paid between canada and usa?

That is one I still have no idea about. They are made in your backyard, so I actually expected them to be cheaper there. I thought we would have to pay more for them due to importation and such. :dontknow:

sale privately

Hi There
I upgraded to 2010 rts. Was offered 9000 for my 2008 ....sold it privately in 3 days for 14000. Then I kept going back till the dealer gave me a good deal. Good luck

Canadian vs USA pricing

well what about the price difference paid between canada and usa?

I wrote about this back earlier in 2010 as I was researching the purchase of my 2010 RTs. I even went as far as contacting BRP corporate relations to get their take on this pricing anomaly. The explanation given was that this was a market driven strategy based on volume discounting to BRP USA.

I guess it makes about as much sense as the comments of other board members at the time who inferred that the extra costs in Canada could be directly attributed to our social welfare system, in particular, universal health care. :yikes:

Seriously, the real reason for the price difference.......because they can!

DEPRECIATION

unfortunately, it is what it is. I paid what I paid for my 08 sm5, been in the shop a few times, had some other issues as well. Now all the bugs are worked out and it runs excellent. I have looked at and sat on the new versions and would not change mine for anything. ( side note, still setting up for a test drive tho ) but pretty sure that is also what it is , a test drive. Mine has cruise, stereo, w/s and etc, however could use extra storage space for camping without pulling a trailer. BUT LIKE I SAY it is what is is AND IT IS MINE.
