• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well I had my demo ride sponsored by East Coast Cycle Center. I was able to drive both the RS S and the RT Limited. What a great day. Both rides were great and felt so different. The RS S felt great and had a sporty feel while giving the illusion of having to work a bit more during the ride. The RT was so comfortable it felt like riding on my living room couch! You could ride forever on it. The guys were great and I met Walt the owner and had good conversation. I am used to a sport bike so the RS S is for me. My wife loved the RT. Though it didn't happen today it will hopefully soon.:doorag:

The RS-S is a great bike, and if you want the graphics, stitched seat, and black custom wheels it's a great deal. However if you're looking for a sporty ride you can put the Fox shocks (the only functional difference) on an RS for a little over $400.00 and have the difference in price for other personalized accessories. I used the difference to get the touring windshield, passenger back rest, and 1" riser. Just throwing out some options. :thumbup:
 
I agree. Unless you fell in love with the color schemes on the RSS model, the difference in the price you save on the RS is money much better spent on the aftermarket goodies you want, but that's my opinion.
 
All sounds great but I see an RT in your immediate future from your second to last sentence :) Besides - easier on the two-up ride (you are going to LOVE riding on the back of the RT more while SHE drives).
 
:welcome: good luck with your decision. If you aren't looking to do a lot of touring then you should be fine with the RS. If your wife is going to be a passenger a lot then you should think about the RT

Great advice!I like the idea of the getting an RS and saving some do with the mods. I forgot to mention a guy riding a manual did a burn out and they asked him to leave before he got a re ride... He did it right in front of them I but they were firm.

My thoughts exactly.

Fox Shoxks - I'd be putting Elka's on it anyways.

As much as I would like the Black/Green or Black/Silver, not to mention the graphics - I foresee a paint job in the future anyways, so why pay for what I'd be painting over in the future?.

Stitched seat - I'm sure I'd be changing the seat to an aftermarket.

That just leaves the wheels, which you can choose an optional set and still be under the RS-S MSRP.

However, if I go with an RT...I have to rethink things. Drat.
 
Glad you had great demo rides. That is the way to get the information you need for making a decision about what is going to be right for you.

Keep us posted and let us know when there is a new :spyder2: in your garage.

Just went for my demo ride (RS-S SE5) today, around the dealer's parking lot as I don't have a MC license/endorsement at the moment.

I was already certain I would buy one, now I think I'm going to move my time table up and buy much sooner.
 
FutureRyder, you must have done your demo up in Concord at Freedom Cycle's Open House. I was hoping to get up there today to demo an RT. But, talked myself out of it. It's a hot ride out there today on my Spyder to get there. Besides, either I'd hate it and be happy to stick with what I've got, or love it and not have the money to support a move up. So, maybe I'm better off knowing if I'd like one or not!!! M.O.S.T. inc of Concord also runs 3 wheeled BRCs so that's an option when you are ready to get your license. Recommend them for the regular BRC too if you want to be licensed on 2 wheels.

Yes, I went to Freedom Cycle.

I'm already planning on signing up with M.O.S.T. for the 3-wheel course. They have one this coming week, but I prefer to do it when I have my own Spyder as they supply GZR250(?) trikes. I'd rather take that class on a vehicle I will be driving and not something different. Hopefully I can get my own Spyder before their next 3-wheel class in early August.
 
Great idea to do the MOST class on your own ride. Three of us women took the 3 wheeled class in April on our Spyders. Had a blast!!! Hope to see you on three wheels soon.
