• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Delivery checklist ?

Folks, I've searched, but did not come up with what I am looking for?

1. Is there a published pre-delivery check-list that dealers must use?
If yes, does anyone have it? Do they give it to you on delivery?
If so, can you please publish it?

2. Would be very helpful (knowing the issues we have at the dealers)
to have our own RIDER delivery check-list.

And maybe we can make it a sticky?

I did not see a checklist like that on either of the 3 spyders I have purchased.

The problem though, if the dealer is shoddy, they will just check all the items off anyway--work done or not.

On a purchase of a motorcycle in 1984, when I was filling out the paperwork--the salesman checked off the items on a list in front of me--no way of knowing if the items were done. My new Yamaha Venture ran just fine--from the get go.

They give it to you when they hand over the Spyder to , You even have to sign it at the bottom to prove that they went over the check list with you.
It's called an P D I = Pre delivery Insecption.

Not only ...

... is there a checklist but the purchaser is supposed to sign it. At least that was so in my case. One of the things you 'sign up for' is the agreement that you understand the first service is on you ... not them.

I remember the form but did not get a copy.

Ok, but what would I as a new owner need to check / verify myself while still at the dealer?

Let's assume dealer did not do what they said they did...
What can I spot???? Anything at all?

The service tech is the one who verifies it, you just sign off that he checked all the to do box's on the PDI Form, Unless it's something easy to see like a flat tire it will be hard to spot something they might have miss.
Most people are in a hurry to jump on their new ride they don't even look at the list before they sign.:ohyea:

When my Spyder arrived at the dealer they gave me a call and wanted to know if I wanted to watch them unpack it from the crate. When I got there they were using the fork-lift to unload three Spyders. Mine was the third to be off loaded. I got to watch taking it out of the crate, going through check off list of everything shipped in crate and I was there all day Wed. watching the techs building my :spyder2:. As they were assembling they would point out significant things about the Spyder and wasn't hard to understand since I am a fare wrench. I got to watch Wed. & Thur. everything they did to my Spyder and I Rode it home on Friday. All paper work in order which was two months ago. Today: I just got back from my 600 mi. service which I watched the entire procedure (2 hr. 27 min.) and it was $161.53. I came home a pleased owner. :2thumbs:

Good on ya! You got it on a cheap!

I also, received the pre inspection checklist and I did sign off on it. All recalls done except I found out 2 months later that they had been signed off done and sent to BRP linking the recalls to the VIN # but 2 of the recalls were not done. They have been completed by another dealer.
