• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Delivered today, 20 year old memories

The Spyder was delivered today. So far everything has been flawless. Easier and more comfortable to ride than I had expected. My wife went for a spin and said it was extremely comfortable. The temperatures reached a high of 46 F here today, and yet I was very comfortable wearing my standard cold weather jacket.

As I have not ridden a motorcycle in about 20 years, I think my transition to the Can Am was a little easier. For example, I did not find myself reaching for a handbreak. What was interesting however, was when I engaged in a little spirited acceleration, I found my foot reaching for the gearshift (I have the SE5 semiautomatic). I guess some memories/feelings are too deeply ingrained to forget.

Also, I had bought a Pontiac Solstice convertible a few years back (the 244th made). It was a nice little, fun to drive car. I was trying to get the feeling of the open road I had experienced in my motorcycling times. It got me about 35% of the way there. I think the Can Am is 100%. I have the same feeling I used to get on the MC. I know it is a very different ride, but the feel for the open road is all there.

Can't wait for some better weather. I guess I can spend tomorrow (supposed to be cold and wet here) catching up on 20+ years of riding gear technology. I never thought I would hear about clothes with ceramic fabric (where I can slide 14X longer than Kevlar!), or molecular body armor.

Great story. Congrats on your "NEW SPYDER".

:congrats: on the new :spyder2: but be careful you don't grab some air as you hit the brakes. t takes a little while to get used to that aspect when you come from two wheels .

:congrats:I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do. It is really a nice feeling not having to worry about where to put your foot down and trying to keep it balanced. I really feel very safe on mine. I rode two wheels for 48 years and I really love my :spyder2:
