• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ok, folks. I need a little info, or directions on how to find such info. I see multiple mentions of the 'nanny', and 'limp mode'. I am sure there are other phrases used here quite often that aren't readily understood by the public at large. I can take an educated guess at these things, but I would like more specifics.

What EXACTLY do these things mean? And yes, I did a forum search. I found multiple mentions, but nothing that concretely told me what these things are, at least on the first several dozen posts that came up.

Pardon my ignorance.

"Nanny" ....

The built in on board VSS system that BRP has on the Spyder to help the driver keep control over the Spyder.

The VSS controls such things as the Anti-Lock Brakes, Power Steering and Engine Power. It can even tell the angle the steering is turned to.

The reason it has got the name "Nanny" is because some of the more playful things people like to do like "burn outs" sliding the rear out in a turn and such are not allowed by the program BRP has in the system. Kind of like a "Nanny" who watches over your kids to make sure they don't hurt themselves.

"Limp Mode" ...

Is a condition in which the Spyder's on board computer limits the speed and engine RPM the Spyder will operate. The computer can put you into "Limp Mode" for a long list of items, both safety related and motor related. This is in theory to ether help keep you "safe" if one of the safety systems has a malfunction, or there is a condition that could harm the motor if continued to operated under normal conditions.IE overheating.

All the above answers are incorrect, "nanny' refers to who takes care of the kids when

your at work paying off the Spyder, and "limp mode" sheesh.....well lets just say that you don't wanna put the Viagra in the center console,
cuz it can get real hot there, otherwise you will be limping home.

hope this helps, those are good questions, I no longer do a search, but just read anything thatNancysToy posts. He does all the searching
for me and condenses the answer down into simple lay mans terms.

He just got a special RTS with a unique color called
"Rouge Rocket," so he is

either out riding it or taking a nap right now.
