OK, Well there is a lot of confusion regaurding bulletins and how they apply to your spyders VIN#. I will explain this as best I can. If you have any questions as it relates to your unit let me know. Understand that not all bulletins will show up when your VIN# is run by your dealer. Your dealer must do some home work to see if your unit needs these items looked at. These are there application,,
1-SAFETY WARRANTY CLAIMS-These relate to mandatory recalls and will
show up if your VIN# is run. These are the most critical of all bulletins.(like 2010-5 clutch recall)
2-WARRANTY CAMPAIGN- These are a standard repair that relates to all units and will show up if your VIN# is run.(like 2010-4 RT gearbox position sensor initialization)
3-QUALITY WARRANTY BULLETIN- This type permits dealers to perform repairs ONLY if described symptoms exist or are noticed. This type bulletin DOES NOT appear if your VIN# is run. Its like the rear air bag mod kit, it does not come up if you call dealer and ask them to run your vin. They need to be up to speed on this stuff because if not they may tell you it doesn't apply to your machine when it does and should be a warranty repair. This bulletin many times will list a VIN range of possibly affected vehicles and must be consulted by the dealer to determine if a vehicle is eligible.(like 2010-15 rear air susp leak inspection)
4-SERVICE BULLETIN- This type is used to notify dealers of new service/maintenance procedures (SUCH AS 2010-12 tranny filter rnr at 3k) tech tools/procedures and shop manual corrections.
Hope this helps
