• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DEER

Last night, my wife Frenchie hit another deer. This time with her new F3-S. This one was a buck, she broke its hind leg. We didn't get the deer. No damage to the Spyder or to her. About 5 years ago she hit one with her 2008 GS, broke its back and we were able to eat it. Only about $100 damage to Spyder and none to her. In 2006 she hit one with a Yamaha Stratoliner almost totaled the bike and herself. Spent a week in the hospital and didn't get the deer. Praise be to the Spyder!!!!!

Yikes..!!

Truly glad she has survived these events...

Think maybe you could get her a rifle....really is easier to hunt with...:roflblack:

 Glad to hear that she and her bike are both pretty-much okay...
The Spyder is too heavy of a caliber, to use on deer anyway!

in the rut

this is the time of year when the Bucks get a little Buck wild and start chasing the Doe's around.
I had a buck chasing a doe cross the road just in front of me yesterday I was on a long private driveway going slow whew close one!!

Protection!

Ron, the fix is simple, and probably in your vault:
Simply fix a 20mm cannon on the front of Frenchie's bike. Deer disappear in a cloud of red mist when she pulls the trigger! :yikes:
Glad she is ok!

Glad to hear that the Missus was not hurt and the :spyder2: also came out okay.

My very last ride on the V-Star on WI roads also entailed an encounter with a deer that came out of the tree line with no warning. I managed to stop in time without laying the bike down. Had some impressive skid marks to show for it though.

I would say ride careful, but you already know that.

 I just want to know if she's willing to go hunting with me for a couple of hours... She sure does know how to find deer! ;)

We didn't get the deer because ran off on three legs faster than I could chase it in the woods in the dark with no flashlight. I forgot to mention in first post that I shot a ruffed grouse with my pickup and it was delicious.

Use deer whistles

For less than $10 you can get a set of these to put on your Spyder. My daughter bought a set at a local auto shop for my SUV after a deer jumped out of a ditch and caused about $2000 damage. I put them on my Spyder as they were black and faux chrome just like my Spyder. Many folks swear by them, and for less than $10 it worth it.
:D
