Dealership and first impression....

So in my travels today i managed to stop in at the dealership to finally get to sit on a :spyder2: and see how it feels and to get some information.

Salesman was busy so I walked around and sat on a few machines. Someone finally came over and we chatted about the models and promotions, he was able to answer some of my questions but indicated someone would be able to answer my questions. Salesman eventually came over and we continued to chat and he answered my questions.

They don't do rentals but I was told I could take one out for as long as I need within reason - I told him that to drop $30G it would be reasonable to take one out for the afternoon - no resistance....

Does anyone use highway pegs? I've been spoiled on a custom bike where I can ride with my legs stretched out.....

I have had my RT for 2 months and instead of adding highway pegs I added Seal Floorboards which many people have done.With these you can move your legs around including stretching them thus eliminating the need for pegs.These boards are excellent.They are site sponsors and you can find all their details on the home page.

Sounds like your already there if you had a custom bike. Get creative and make your own, so then you can share with the rest of us your idea. A few have bitten the bullet right on the primer and done some doosey's.
. It's all in what you feel comfortable on. I've since refabbed them to allow for more weight in case someone steps on them to see if they hold. Amazing how folks will ask a question while trying to get an answer.

Just seeing the options for the highway pegs, are the ESI scuff protectors used as pegs ? Guessing they wouldn't take much weight, but look the simplest option to fit ?

Has anyone fitted these ?

I have these on my bike. You can rest your feet on them with no issues although I dont use them much. Stepping on them would be a no-no.:lecturef_smilie:

I think lamonts pegs are nicer and stronger for sure.

I tried that at the dealership on a model that had floorboards but found that I'm too tall and need pegs almost to the point of the tyres.

I thought of that then realized that they aren't very sturdy......my first thought was to reenforce them.
