• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How many of you have your service done by a dealer that you did not buy your spyder from?
I have three dealers within a 75 mile radius. The closet is $3,000.00 more on a new spyder than the others. What to do,what to do. Sorry about the other post.

I bought my Spyder from a dealer 200 miles away because they had great pricing. Local dealers wouldn't/couldn't even come close. I have the bike serviced locally though. They always ask me when I bring it in if I bought the bike there. I always say, "no because you weren't willing/able to give comparable pricing".

I actually wish the dealer I bought it from was closer. I really liked them.

I bought from a dealer 200 miles away, i will be going to him this weekend for my first 3,000 mile checkup (always let the selling dealer do your first service) after that i will travel about 9,000 miles before my next service is due, so maybe i will go back there or get someone closer to do my next service.

Before you go far away to buy, talk to the dealer that's closer and let him know that you can get it cheaper somewhere else and see if he will negotiate with you.

But a couple of hundred miles to go to get service is just another adventure on the road.

I would be as much concerned about the dealers reputation as i would the price. all things being even, buy locally.

Service

We bought our Spyder from a dealer 75 miles away. They did not know anything about servicing the spyder. Found a GREAT dearler 52 miles away. Still going to them.

I bought my first Spyder from dealer A (30 miles )away and I had service done at dealer B (30 miles) away, I just felt I got a better deal and service at dealer B

I bought my 2012 RT from a dealer 250 miles away because they had a great end of year sale on them. But i always had it serviced at my closest dealer 130 miles away. The service department at my closest dealer is top notch and never treated me differently because I bought it elsewhere. I am buying my 2014 RTS from a dealer 550 miles away because they offered the best price and my closest dealer doesn't have any 2014s yet. When I told my service department about my new purchase they were excited for me and asked that I bring it by so that they can see it.

It is great to have choices. If you do, go to the dealer that you are most confident in servicing the :spyder2:. It's good when selling and servicing dealer are the same, but that is always not the case.

I bought mine at a dealer 250 miles away
He had the best deal and was very customer oriented
He is a BRP dealer only and gives great service [Twin Cities Motorsports in Roseville California]
The dealer closet to me [80 miles] was not friendly did not want to give me good price and has all bed reviews on the internet

I go to my selling dealer to get parts and service

Its worth the extra miles to feel comfortable with the service and to be treated the way I treat others

I'm in a pretty fortunate postion:
I've got five dealers with 65 miles of me! :D
I've been to four of them so far...
The one that I've settled-in with; is the one that has consistently given me the best service for my bike.
But the four that I've frequented: all are winners!
