Dealer parts shortage.

Being new to the Spyder community I can only make my judgments from and compared to my experience with Harley Davidson. It appears to me that the Spyder dealers do not stock a lot of inventory in their parts department. Last September I ordered two air intake covers for my 2016 RT and as of April they had not arrived. The main excuse that COVID was slowing everything down. I ordered them online and got them two days later. Six weeks ago I ordered a comfort seat hoping to get it before long haul touring season. I checked yesterday and it had not come in again and it is expected to be sent at the end of the month. That’s the same answer I got with the air intake covers. I do not want to wait another six months to get the product I want. Has anyone else had this problem with their local dealer? Does Lamonster or any other sponsor carry something similar in the comfort seat’s price range?

Are ya seeing alot of new cars on the dealer lots? It’s gonna take awhile for the world to regain it’s footing after Covid.

I bought a cannonball seat for my F3 in Dec. 2019 (pre-covid). Ordered it through the mail and it was shipped directly to my home. Got it in about a week.

THEN...Covid kicked in in 2020. Still seems to be some repurcussions going on. Many dealers don't want the "hassle" that goes with all the extra paperwork if they do the ordering. Guess they don't like a bit of extra free markup. I can see some delays in the normal course of things, but not for six months at a time.

I wanted some LED's for both our F3's and both Spydrerpops and Lamonster were out around a month ago. Have not had an update since. However the delay has caused me to re-think my need for the LED's. We are going to save the $500 or so for two sets and let them go at this time.

We have over $1,500 in farkles on each machine. I am thinking we are done with farkling. :yes:

Actually here in Lincoln most of our dealer lots are full but they are talking shortages starting in June. I certainly wouldn’t want to have to buy a car for the next couple years.
