I knew that this was going to happen. The auto industries went through the same thing with certain model the latest I can remember was the VW beetle when it come back.I think the only thing you can do is take your money back and buy where you get a honest deal, you may have some kind of classaction suit if you can show a purchase order with the lower price If there is enough of you. What everyone else can do is boycott dealers in AZ and FL. and spread the word and tell people that want to buy where the honest dealers are. Sorry your going through this kind of BS.wildwillie

Dealers adding on special handling fees, PMA, excessive freight/PDI is nothing new. It happened with the Prowler, PT Cruiser, 40th anniversary edition Mustang GT, and until 6 months ago here in the bay area, dealers were still charging a premium for Mini Coopers.
As for boycotting a dealer, sounds good, but in reality it is not going to happen, there is always someone that will pay the price. As for a class action suite, not going to happen, the dealers are not braking any laws, they can charge what they like and customers have the choice of paying the price or not.

If you want the latest and greatest you're going to pay full boat and then some in most cases. Look at the iphone when it first came out. If you want a deal just wait till the market for that product settles down and then buy it. Heck I remember that a place in line for a Spyder was going for 26K before ebay killed the auctions. I'll be happy if the prices stay high just in case BRP comes out with a new version I just have to have. ;D

I agree with wildwillie. This is a good forum for those folks who still haven't plopped down their deposit yet.

Yes, I have whined on this board about waiting for mine and BRP's strange distribution methods, but I will recommend the dealer I used to anyone in the upstate NY or New England area:

Pittsfield Lawn and Tractor (they sell heavy equipment and snowmobiles, ATV's, etc) have been pleasant, helpful, and patient.

They let us take a long test ride on our own with their only two demo's. They gave me the posters, dvd, and catalogs when I put the deposit. My jacket came in promptly, and it was the correct size. They have a small, but nice selection of accessories so you can see before you buy. I put my deposit down last April, and, tho' I'm still waiting, they told me my bottom line this week (including tax, not including plates, including 5% MA sales tax, less the $1000 deposit) was $15,380. They said they would facilitate getting the registration and plates to save me the trip back and forth from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

So, to those who haven't ordered yet, add my dealer's name to the list of folks to give a try. I've read of some of you who have driven several states just to purchase a Spyder...It might be worth a long drive to such a dealer. I'm sure there are other reputable dealers around.

what all you guys say is true but if the buyer can come up with a written purchase agreement for x amount of dollars at a x time ( being when the bike arrives)I would certainly try to make them honor the agreement legaly if needed.wildwillie

Appleton Power Sports in wisconsin has been the best for me no last minute costs heck, just went in the other day bought the riser for mine ....not delivered yet. They are putting the riser on when the set it up no charge. This is my first purchase ever at said place. They even remember my name when i walk up to the counter and im not in thier shop to often cool huh? makes me feel a little special with that service!!!!!!
