I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas with my nose pressed against the window waiting for Santa. It's been a long wet winter in Oregon and we had little opportunity to ride in good weather. My bride and I bought new rain gear this year as our old stuff was getting wore out. We did have some good dry rides, 860 miles over Memorial Day Weekend and last weekend we took three days and rode up to Pateros and enjoyed a BBQ with the Murphy Brown crowd for the Heart of Washington ride. I spent 5 months in Gillette WY. 2 years ago and rode the Black hills almost every weekend we could and have wanted to go back. we are leaving home on the 8th of July with Bosie being our first night then Island Park out side of West Yellowstone the next night, from there we cut through the Park and come out on the Northeast and head for Red Lodge going over Bear Tooth at over 10,000 feet, when we rode it the last time on the 4th of July weekend the ski-lift on top was running. From Red Lodge we have a very long ride to Deadwood getting there on Tuesday with a layover till Thursday when we head home after we ride through the Needles and check out Crazy Horse Memorial, Thursday we stay out in the middle of nowhere in Wright heading south to Independence Rock and staying just outside of Jackson Hole Friday night. We will make Boise on Saturday then home on Sunday where my job-site will be upside down and my PM will be happy to see me back so I can play catch-up. Somewhere around 2,500 miles of tears and smiles. Just hoping we don't get up-close and personnel with the Buffalo in Custer State Park like the last time. I only got one photo before I put my camera away as I wanted both hands free, It was the high-lite of the ride but could have turned into the low-light just as quick, after I put my camera away some of them jumped the guardrail and came by almost close enough to touch, so close you could feel the heat coming off them.
