• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Dead battery - 6V or 12V?

This might seem like a dumb question, but I left my spyder's power on accidentally last night and tonight I was greeted by a dead spyder.

The dealer installed a battery tender, but I have never used it. It has two settings... 6V and 12V. I though it would be 12V, but when I set it to that, I get an error. I just set it to 6V and it seems to be charging.

What do you think?

Thanks

The battery was so dead that the battery charger thinks that it can't be a 12V battery. That happened to me on a battery, not a Spyder one. I hooked up an old stupid trickle charger for 4 or 5 hours and then the smart charger worked.

Looks like..!!

:agree: what he said. You can jump it and run it for a while or get a real battery charger. You will have to get some voltage in it for the tender to pick it up. Good luck..!!

:agree: +1

Jump start the Spyder to let the magneto charge the battery for a while(if the connections are clean and tight), then put it back on the charger overnight.

Using the 6 volt setting on a 12 volt batter can't harm anything; can it? :dontknow:
(I know what happens if the reverse situation is encountered...:yikes:)
