There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. DC/MD/Northern VA Spyder Owners/ Just Placed My Order Today!

Hello everyone! I just placed order for a red SE5 today. I've been lurking in this site for a few weeks now and decided I've seen enough info to to feel comfy. I owned a bike many years ago but after several years working in the emergency room and seeing so many bike riders not make it out of trauma, I gave it up. I love the open road and when the Spyder surfaced, I felt the need to get one. It's bigger, it's not as fast and looks so damn cool.. I live in the DC metro area, actually in Maryland in the suburbs. I'd love to get to know any Spyder owners in this area. I'm not expecting to get my ride for a while now but I intend to be a regular here. 2 questions. If there are any DC/MD/Northern Va riders here where do you live? I haven't seen a Spyder in this area yet. I'm hoping to be the first. Question number 2 is when can I expect delivery.? I've seen so many threads where people who ordered a long time ago still haven't received theirs. I'm in no big rush, it is what it is as far as the wait goes but I'd like to know what a realistic expectation is......hope to get to know all of you well.... excited expecting Spyder waitee!!!!!

Well,
You have one rider in your area.
I live in a town called Street, MD. Zip is 21154
Can't advise you as to when to expect delivery.
It's a waiting game, just ask anyone who already owns a Spyder.
When you get yours, give me a holler, we'll hook up.

As to the wait. I am in my 3rd month of wait mode. First month was crazy, went to every RV and boat
show that was closer than my dealer just to see and sit on the Spyder. Second month I read every post
on how to do every mod I want to complete once Spyder gets here, multiple times. Shoot, I may have
some of them memorized by now ;D. So here I am in month three. Now it is just a matter of patience.
I don't actually HAVE any but there is no way I am backing out now! If I thought it would speed them up
I'd give them another $1k but I can wait. When I read how much fun you guys are having and I remember
back to my demo ride and what a blast that was... ahh shoot, here comes crazy mode again!!!!

Me to. Have been going to every dealer demo within driving distance. My dealer is also going to let me take the store demo out just to get my fix. Great group of guys to do business with - Xtreme Machines - Millstone NJ

SM5 Certificates that were created between March 1, 2008 and July 31,2008 have started to ship.

Due to the high demand, Roadster Red certificates created prior to May 22, 2008 will be shipped by September 30, 2008. Any certificates created after May 22, 2008 will be delivered by October 31,2008.

SE5 Certificates that were created between November 5, 2007 and February 29,2008 will be shipped by November 30,2008.

SE5 Certificates that were created between March 1, 2008 and July 31,2008 will be shipped by November 30,2008."

I took this info from the BRP site... In your wait and experience, how accurate is this??? If true then I'm looking at a November date or prior hopefully.... Why are they waiting to mass produce these machines? Seems like they'd make at least as many as the current order rate....oh well, maybe they think exclusivity makes the heart grow fonder.

I was lucky. I ordered mine May 10th and just picked it up Friday. Mine is a silver SM5. I like it more everytime I ride it.

Just moved to DC metro area Ashburn VA Loudon Co. I am picking my spyder up tuesday... but I hate to say it there is another one in the area. lol shoot me a line at [email protected] if you ever want to go for a ride later this summer...

Don't know exactly how many Spyders are taged and titled in Maryland at this time but between this forum and CAN-AM Talk there are at least 4 that have spoken.....I believe Columbia, Annapolis, Street, and me near Brunswick!
I put my deposit down Sept.07 and took delivery early April 08.I believe I am the only Spyder owner west of the beltway at this time but the new Frederick Dealer has sold a bunch so others should start showing up this summer and fall! There are probably more than 4 in Maryland right now they just are not members of the 2 popular SPYDER Forums.Anyway I am retired and pretty much ride every day......if you or other TRI-State Spyder owners ride this way I hope to see you on the road! :welcome:

Here we go again... Alot of threads about SE5's. YOur wait is anybody's guess. I'm the optimist, thinking that they are going to start full production sometime in June (this month) and start shipping these things out in July, with alot of us SE5 "owners to be" receiving them by end of August.

There is no first certificate to BRP, first to be fulfilled, rhyme or reason to BRP's shipping and fulfillment..... I think it is a matter of just which dealership has other orders and when convenient, throw on a couple of SE5's for the same dealer and or one close by and deliver them as well. So don't be shocked that you ordered in December and won't get one till September, while I ordered in February and (I'm getting the first one!). ;D

Seriously, I've tried to figure this out, it is impossible. BRP has solid orders (pre-order certificates) from dealers, but the distribution is not by certificate number, by calender date when ordered, etc....

Maybe someone from Valcourt this weekend can enlighten all of us on the SE5....

As for hoping your the first in your neighborhood, I hoped that also, and went to a bike rally in Camdenton, MO and a silver Premier Edition was parked. It won first place in the trike division, and I couldn't hardly talk to the guy because of the gawking. He had speculated that this would be an e-bay quick buck re-sale, now he says he's waited too long and the price has dropped about $2500 because the SM5's are now ready to buy off the showroom floor in supply..... Hopefully, that saturation, will allow the SE5 to begin production.
