Dave & Teds Most Excellent Adventures 2013

A guilt trip can be a powerful thing! :roflblack:

Don't worry about it, just do it at your own pace. You and Teddy are the only ones you have to please.

I'll have to put my thinking cap on for this one

They r just jealous they dont have 1 they see u living the dream an wish they could. Thats the way i take any comment like that. i just smile an know i am the 1 with a :spyder2:. Hey i need to get with u about Teddy being the ring bearer at the wedding??

I had read about your wedding and also seen the comment made about Teddy maybe being the ring bearer, but thought it only in jest
:roflblack: didn't realize it was serious:lecturef_smilie:
I'll have to start working on this with him & see what he thinks about it as with most things Teddy tho, as long as treats:popcorn: are involved, he's usually ALL FOR IT  Tho this may require Premium :bbq: TREATS :bbq::roflblack:

I agree, best treats are really the only way to go. It's a lot of pressure. Dave hadn't heard you say where you and Teddy will be staying during the Spyderfest. Are you still planning on camping?

For Teddy only the best Premium treets for him an its up to him if he feels like it at the time we r very much dog lovers an take r dogs for rides all the time. we will get some pics. An we will talk about it soon Thx

I think I may have been the one to originally suggest Teddy as ring bearer. I'll be happy to provide him some premium training treats.nojoke Tell me his favorite brand and PM me your address. It will all be worth it seeing Teddy carrying that ring at Spyderfest! I believe he can do it!!

It never ceases to amaze me when I see the projects that some of you spyder riders take on. Here you are taking the whole thing apart and I am typing threads about how hard it is to get to the back tire stem. I have to laugh at myself. Carry on my friend, carry on...

good job dave

parts are looking good. take your time. i know it's hard to watch paint dry:roflblack::thumbup: take teddy out for some fries.

Kind of playing it by ear

Since I went back to work a little to soon after my back surgery, I ended up using all of my Personal Time at work, so I have no vacation or Personal Days left. For this reason, I have't made any solid plans just yet. As long as my department has plenty of stock ahead of the department I feed, my boss shouldn't have an issue with me taking 3 or 4 days of unpaid time off. This shouldn't be much of an issue, as I've been being sent home early every day just about for the past 2 weeks as I've got my stock built up as much as I can, but will still have to wait til time gets closer to be for sure. A machine or laser can go down at any time, & put plans in jeopardy, as has happened before. Do plan on camping with our little Moto-Mate Camper, so hoping we can share someone's spot like we have in the past, since we don't take up much room at all. That's where we're at for now in our plans.

Looks nice, thanks for the link

Check out the paint on this site. www.alsacorp.com they have some very cool paints n a can also. Ya looks like i mite b to late :banghead:

But yeah, a day late & dollar short in this case. I don't know why, but I had it in my head that it all should match, so that's why I went with the OEM Viper Red to do the speaker grills & the dash bezel.

But I have to admit, I'm really attracted to chrome & have been invisioning an entire chrome colored sled, with either black or red accents. . . . . I'll tell you, the thought makes me drool. But I've done what I've done & am where I am, so we'll be happy with this til we're not & if fund$ are available then, maybe we'll look into get'n the entire thing chrome painted :doorag:

What a weird dream I had last night, all revolving around Teds Red Sled. Must mean I NEED to be get'n this done and back on the road.

Seems I've lost all 'street cred' or whatever you want to call it here at work. In the past 2 weeks, I've had 4 different people that I don't really know, just see from time to time here around the factory, come up to me and inquire about not seeing the Spyder anymore in the parking lot. "What, you get soft and can't handle ryding in the cold anymore?" was the basis of most their messages.

They had gotten used to seeing Teds Red Sled out in the motorcycle parking area, all by its lonesome almost everyday, all winter long last year. I rode every day except 6 days last year, and that's when we had too much snow on the roads to ryde. Cold has never been an issue with BaJaRons Thermo Ryding Suit & the coldest temp. being 10F degrees that I rode to work in just fine, with everyone thinking I had to be a nut freezing them off, but I was just fine.

Now everyone thinks I've just wimped out & I try to explain I've just been doing a series of mods and its been slow going cause of my arm/hand issues, but you can tell they don't really buy it, and still think to themselves I've just gone soft.

Whatever, I don't ryde to impress them, I ryde for enjoyment and to be honest, its my therapy, keeps me sane. Guess they better watch out, for as little as I've been able to ryde lately, I wouldn't claim to be a very sane person right now -
:yikes:nojoke:cus::lecturef_smilie::banghead: **** :roflblack:

If you don't mind me asking, what was the dream about?

Dreams Dreams Dreams

If you don't mind me asking, what was the dream about?

Dreams Dreams Dreams you really want to know about this Dream huh? Okay, I don't think I ever mentioned this before on here so I might as well do it now. As with most of my storIes, you know there's always a back story so here goes.

DREAMS Part I:
Most of you know by now that Teddy has food allergies and is on a hypo allergenic diet that consists of nothing more than duck and potato no preservatives or anything else. I did ask and got approval from his Vet that it's okay if he has French fries for a treat and she agreed, acknowledging that french fries are nothing more than potato but also saying that fried food isn't the greatest for a dog.

AnywAys this brings us bAck to Lamont's Bar-b-q this past summer and we were enjoying the festivities along with everyone else. When Teddy & I are on the road & on vacation, rules are more lax than normal & I usually just share my meals with him and things usually go well, with the mantra of everything in moderation & Teddy is usually no worse for the ware.

Well, those that were at the bar-b-q witnessed firsthand The Tedster pigging out on bar-b-q & also he had his own slice of cake. We all had a good laugh, but I remember clearly making the comment, I'll be paying for this later.

DREAMS Part II:
So we're still on our back story, Right? Ah yes, Lamont's bar-b-q & Teddy got to pig out, & I remember saying, "I'm gonna pay for this." Oh if I had only known then how bad my payment was going to be, I think I honestly may have changed those decisions. But, what was done, was done and their was no changing the past, but I'm getting way ahead of myself here.

Sorry, I'll try my best to stay on track here, but y'all will have to bare with me, as I'm trying my best to recall happenings that are now from almost a year ago & with having ADHD in can sometimes be a challenge to remember 20 minutes ago. But understanding the backstory makes the dream a bit more understandable, if there is such a thing when it comes to dreams.

So a little known fact is that Teddy & I were the very last to leave Lamont's bar-b-q, even leaving After Lamont himself.

For those that were there, you may recall on the last day, that being of the bar-b-q itself, it was quite a drizzly rainy day and after Teddy & I got our bellies full, and Teddy tired of schmoozing, we retired to the dryness of our Moto-mate Camper that we had set-up in front of his talented wifes sewing cabin. You may have seen it, little white camper with big red patio umbrella over top with Teds Red Sled right along side.

DREAMS Part III:
After we awoke from our sugar (cake) induced coma, it was starting to get dark & I realized just about everyone else was already gone & Lamonts front pasture was once again green, leaving Lamonts Spyder & Trailer as the only evidence of anything Spyder related that had happened there,

sans the multitudes of Spyders that had recently resided there

Teddy and I walked up to the garage and lent a hand to the few stragglers like Ron & Pops that had stayed to help Lamont & his family clean up after the days festivities. We watched as Pops loaded up his trailer and soon even him and Ron were gone as well. Lamonts family soon took their leave, I'm sure glad to finally have a little peace and quiet back in their lives after opening up their home to so many of us Spyderlovers from all over the country. With it finally over with, the last thing his wife wanted to do was cook, so we all said our good byes and they headed out to a local restaurant for dinner, leaving Lamont behind to soon meet up with them.

Teddy and I walked back down to our little camp and I started packing everything (not that theirs alot) up and getting ready for our long ryde back home. I remember being thankful that the weather had broke, and the rain had finally stopped and the clouds were starting to break, right at dusk. As I was shimmy'n our overhead umbrella into its plastic shroud to stow it away for the long trip, Lamont stopped by on his way out. He commented how he liked our little set-up and noted that we were pretty much self contained, with everything we needed for camping, sans a bathroom of course. But that's what campgrounds (or in this case, Lamonts hospitality) was for. He asked us to be safe on our trip home & assured us we'd always have a yard to pitch camp in anytime we ever needed & Teddy & I watched as he drove away down his long shaking drive. This is when I actually realized we were the only ones left & it for some reason, left a warm feeling in my heart.

I finished stowing everything securely away, double checked Teddy's tethers to make sure all was secure, set the Zumo for the return trip,
snapped a couple of final pics, and off we went, slowly making our way down Lamonts long snaking drive to the main road.

Once we got to the clearing of the main road, I was stopped in my tracks, as the setting sun breaking thru the clouds made for a breathtaking view, looking as if the sky itself was on fire. I remember vividly, stopping with my jaw agape at the beautiful view before us, and taking out the camera phone to try in snap some pics, but the exposures just couldn't come close to the ALL Inspiring sight before us. Made for such a fitting send off for our return journey home from such a wonderful event.

DREAMS Part IV:
With the sun setting, we made our way to the main road

and I figured it best to go ahead & make a Bee Line for the closest gas station, as Teds Red Sled was just about on empty. While riding down the highway, I see a call coming in on my cell phone, held in place directly between the handle bars with an X-grip Ram Mount. I could easily see the screen, but it left me a little perplexed, as it showed an incoming call from an Unknown caller, but under my contacts list as a Spyderlover. Huh? Who was this that was calling Me? I didn't know & didn't have my BlueTooth Ear Bud in, so I dared not try to answer it while riding and allowed it to go to voice mail.

I was thinking maybe I had left something behind at Lamonts, but I knew I was the last person to leave there, so that couldn't be it. Within a couple of minutes, we were getting close to that gas station with the Wendy's where the Huge group ryde with the police escort left from, when the cell started ringing again. Obviously, this was important enough for the caller to keep calling back, so I was now a little concerned, but had to once again let it go to voice mail.

Within 5 minutes, we were at the gas station and I quickly shut down Ted Red Sled and untethered him to allow him to go and do his 'business' while I called my voice mail to retrieve the messages.

DREAMS PartV:
So I call my voice mail & retrieve the 2 messages left. The first one was from a female, but I could barely make anything she was saying out, as the message was really garbled. It sounded like someone on the side of a highway with their cell reception constantly dropping. Listened to the 2nd message, and it was a male voice but just as garbled. I tried calling the number, but our connection kept dropping and I was getting frustrated.

At this time, its now dark & we're parked in the Wendy's parking lot alongside a grassy area so Teddy can run around & stretch his legs a bit, when all of a sudden, I hear a familiar sound, that of a Spyder exhaust. Not just one, but 2 RS's pull up to the pumps and proceed to fuel up. Intrigued and not familiar with the bykes, I was hoping they wouldn't just fuel up & leave but maybe come over to chat. They saw us parked on the side, and after fueling up, parked on the side lot as well, so they could go in and sit down to eat inside. I noticed their plates were from Indiana, & wondered to myself if they were someone Teddy & I might have previously met when we did the Brown County Indiana ryde with a big group of Indy locals.

Tbc............... work work work

TBC........

sorry folks, once again having to take a break from story-time. Was sent home early again from work so I went home & started working on painting some more. Figured I'd take Teddy with me to Therapy & its almost 60 degrees & sunny right now, tho snow tomorrow. Killed me not takinv the sled, but since I still have the shield off, no wah in h*ll am I doing that again, so we took the Cougar. Pull out of the driveway & hear flub flub flub and the car is pulling to the right real bad. Ugh!!! Are you serious? Yup, just got new tires on the Cougar the day after Christmas & here we are now with a front passenger flat tire. Ugh!!! Stopped by the gas station & put a can of fix-a-flat that got it back up enough to drive. Called Therapy & cancelled & now we're sitting here at Tire Discounters waiting for them to fix or replace it. We have ride-on in the Spyeer tires but I didn't think of iit for the car til now, a little too late :banghead:
