I did a loop out to Dans Rock and Mount Storm today for 302 miles with a fast out from Frederick on 70/68, Up to Dans Rock Overlook near Frostburg, then on to Mount Storm Lake. Enjoyed the ride back in on Corridor H a very underutilized highway with high vista views and high bridges provide a fun run back towards the east and route 600 provides a nice bypass to all of the traffic around I-81 on the way back into Frederick.
I had something weird happen on the way down from Mount Storm, I was riding very spiritedly coming back down the mountain. Let's just say the nanny was dropping the throttle on me again due to speed. But as I was hitting the transitions on one of the bridges I think I caught some air and really upset the ECU. I got a limp home message and the check engine light came on but no other codes. Luckily with how fast I was moving and the grade I was able to coast it in to a pull off and shut it down but I still didn't see any codes being displayed, just limp home and a check engine light. I gave it a hail mary, shut it down, then pulled the key out and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Put the key back in and it brought the limp home message back up then cleared itself. Not sure what exactly happened that upset it so much, but I'll see if I can pull up the codes in the morning.
