• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Damn-Cool Helmets

yes those are pretty cool indeed, Here in good ole Alberta Canada we have lots of guys air brushing helmets but BEWARE if you paint over the DOT decal on the back of the helmet and you get pulled over by the police they will take and crush that fancy brain bucket:banghead::banghead:, there goes 800 bucks plus the cost of your helmet. It is illegal to cover the DOT tag that came from the factory.

Is that just in Alberta? Reason I ask is I recently got pulled over in Trenton (Ontario) and the officer even commented on my matching helmet and bike theme but said nothing about the missing DOT tag on the back of my helmet.

What will we do when it becomes illegal to breathe?

Hey fire joe im not sure about the rest of Canada but I know for a fact that is what is happening here. There are a lot of very very cheap helmets being made in China then they get sent here and some shops have decals made to resemble the dot tag. If the DOT tag is not cleared over by the factory there goes the helmet. The top custom air brush artist here wont paint over the tag he will paint around it and try to work it into the design. It sucks but it is better than the alternitive, which is having your helmet taking by the cops. Oh by the way that is on sick looking helmet wow the attention to detail is beyond amazing.

I just bought a new helmet that I got yesterday and the DOT sticker is not cleared over. I think you could fight that one real easy.

Well, in Kentucky, helmets are not mandatory so I dont think DOT being covered would make a difference. I wouldnt wear one that wasnt, but thats me. I checked the helmets out the guy uses and they are both DOT approved. My current one is Snell, which I consider a bit better than the standard DOT.

hey Lamont I only know the law here in the province I live in, 4 of my neighbours work for the RCMP and two of them are in traffic. They come over to see the rt and saw my helmets, I have a shorty for those few hot days we get here and i have 2 other helmets as well. I asked them about painting helmets and was told about the DOT stickers from them, if they pull you over and see its painted over they can take it from you. He said that rarely happens unless the person being pulled over is a complete a#@. And your right about the factory DOT tag im not sure how they could prove it.

OK those are awesome. My husband and I were considering airbrushing my helmet, I may have to look into that again.

Not riding a sport bike nor on the track… so it would sit in my garage as artwork… and I have plenty of that already.
