There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Custom paint or wrap for the "frunk"

I would really like to do something with our 2011 RT SE5 Limited to personalize it a bit. I am leaning in the direction of a variation of the theme of my avatar since I am retired from the Navy and the wife is still serving. I'm a "mustang" while she is not, but it will have a naval theme to it. What do ya'll think? Would it look right? I would think putting the "officer's crest" more in the center would look better.

Have you seen the one Al (ACINPCOLA) has on his RT ?

Here is a pic

Pete at PowerSportswraps.com did mine and this one. Great work in a 10th of the time and half the cost. :doorag:

Yep, Al's is the inspiration to do something for ours. I really like his, as I was once upon a time a Chief Petty Officer before going to the other side. LOL

I have a note in to the folks down there to see what they can come up with. I really like the flag with the mustangs and the officer's crest (hat device) would really look nice on the frunk. I would dearly love to put a CPO anchor (hat device) on one of the side trunks and the officer crest on the other with both in gold and silver.

Cool. Can't wait to see it. I have been in contact with Pete over the past month to do something for mine as well. The concept is easy fir me because I can remove it when I get rid of the RT and it is back to stock. The hard part is coming up with the unique idea!

Did you install the wraps or did Pete?

I think I am doing a full frunk wrap, but I'm worried about the install. Al did his himself, but it was a "partial" and installed in the y-shaped recessed area of the frunk. With all the dips and ridges in the frunk I am worried about how hard a full install would be with regard to air bubbles, alignment, etc.

I can rebuild a carburetor in a parking lot but there is no way I was going to do that wrap myself. I don't paint either. :lecturef_smilie:

From the folks that I have talked with who "did their own", the frunk lid seemed to be overwhelming the most difficult part. with that in mind I just mailed mine to Pete and had him do it at very reasonable cost

Decal

Most graphic shops can print out a computer generated design on vinyl with adhesive backing. I wanted a North Star decal for my frunk and trailer lids, about 10" in size. The cost of the project, which included computer generated art work, vinyl, cutting and installation was approximately $100.

The installation took less than 5 minutes, which included prepping the surface areas. If you already have the design, as per your avitar, you simply need the shop to print the graphic and do the install. I would recommend you leave the install to the professionals. They make it look very easy, but they have the luxury of re printing the graphic if they botch the install and they do this stuff for a living.

Just another option to consider. Another plus is the fact that you can easily remove the artwork from the lids if you are so inclined.

Ah, so you bailed out to the other side - for shame for shame - Barnicle Bill and Davy Jones shall be waitin on you for that. I have to say Pete did a great job with my idea, finding the Ram Skull took me a little time. The cost was great also, once I nailed down the design Pete got me my graphic in excellent time.

Maybe you should have the Flag background and a Chief's Anchor on the left with a Mustang jumping in the center and then the "O" crest on the other side...

Have a good one Mate, looking forward to seeing your final design

Wrap

I am trying to think of something also. Going to do a wrap so if I ever sell I can just take it off. My Spyder's name is Bob (short for Battery Operated Boyfriend) :opps::roflblack::opps: and I can come up with all kinds of ideas for a wrap, but nothing that would be suitable when pulling up at church on Sundays.:roflblack: I"ll have to check out Pete and see what he has.

Al,
Thanks again Chief. I have a note into Pete with your suggestion. We'll see what he comes up with. I'll always cherish my years as a Chief and the Goat Locker. Being a crusty ole CWO made it a bit strange to be in the wardroom with the youngsters. Then I met a very young Ensign about the time I retired. She now has silver oak leafs for collar devices, but she still looks my direction for guidance. :2thumbs: She likes the idea of personalizing the Spyder with a bit of a nautical theme, too.
Regards,
Rich

After working with Pete on doing my RT, I would never use anyone else. His professionalism and desire to please are the best you will find. I have talked with him about several projects since he completed my :spyder2:. I just purchased a new 7X10 trailer to haul the RT in and he is working on some graphics for it to coordinate with the bike.

you just gave me an idea for my Spyder ........ I think your on to something .. and congrats on retirement. btw ..... I will have my spyder soon I hope. Its still on the show room floor

I visited a company which makes the advertisings on the cars .. the boss did an over-the-night-job ..
the idea was .. it should look not so .. "fat" .. - maybe you find someone nearer ..a-strips.jpg

Now the biggest hurdle to get across is to locate the individual art that allows Pete to integrate it, as in overlay it on top of each other to get the final product.

That is the hard part Rich. Make sure it is crisp and at least 600 pixel if I remember correctly. The anchor inlay cost me 10 bucks from AAA Vector Graphics. Good Luck Mate

Thanks Chief, I've got an email in to the AAA folks with my avatar and attached a jpg of the Officer's Crest and the ESWS pin. I would like to do a variation of the avatar with the flag, mustangs, and a CPO Anchor on the left and the Officer's Crest on the right side with the ESWS pin at the top center. Or something to that effect.
Regards,
Rich
