• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I made my best friend a pace to ride on my bike
She always liked riding on my 2008 GS

Nicely done..!!

Nice dog and great work getting a ryding spot built. Has a commanding view must love it...:2thumbs:

 :2thumbs: Nice Job!!
Do you have a cover that you can use to close off that opening, when your Co-Pilot stays home? :dontknow:
It could keep road dust and debris from accumulating... ;)

I have the original cover
I bought this one in Cognac to modify
only 5 easy screws and it changed

GREAT idea! :2thumbs:
How much was it?

The cover was $200 and I cut the inner cover that it is mounted to
Just cut the first cover and then mark the inner cover to match the top cover
Take the top cover off and cut the inner cover.
I know my dog is going to outgrow this now 27 pounds [she is getting fat cause I spoil her]
I ordered a Beast rider for her today and should have it by first of June
If you or anyone else has a little dog you want to take with you I will give it to you. You just have to paint it to match your Spyder
You have first dibs Bob
Wish I lived back east cause you and a few others back there would be fun to ride with [no one near here with bike]
I retired 3 years ago to take care of my stepdad [he is 88years old blind and deaf] That's why I live in the middle of now where Calif.[160 miles round trip to shop]
But great excuse to ride and shop at same time:yes:
Cover will be available in June

It wouldn't need any painting to match my bike...
I'll check with the Missus, and get back to you.
Thanks! :2thumbs:

At 4 pounds your dog will need a larger pillow
but you should see the looks and pictures I get when people see this
She even looks like she is smiling when she rides
She will need eye protection [I have doogles for her] her eyes will dry out if you don't cover them not to mention bugs
I will even send the inner cover so you do not have to cut anything but I would want you to send me your inner cover so I can put it on mine you keep the Cognac cover for when you do not take you dog with you
I will no longer need a cut one when I get the beast rider
This was the reason I made the hidden gas door because the Beast Rider will be on the passengers seat
I will also say that I have a small chain bolted to the inside of the trunk with a clip to attach her to [she likes to go hunt and I did not want to take a chance of here jumping out]
The Beast rider was lots of $ but she is worth it
We go hiking at Lake Tahoe and Yosemite and other areas we can ride to

that looks really nice...

I have been working on various ideas to carry my co-pilot on the passenger seat and have gone thru so many variations it makes my head spin

thought about doing what you did but had two concerns:

a) how to do it
b) would my dog be comfortable back there vs in some sort of rig in the passenger seat

she's about 30 lbs (and that was taken on my previous 2012 RTS)

At 30 pounds she is right at the limit of fitting in the trunk but may not be comfortable on long trips
That is why I am getting the Beast Rider seat
They have one that fits the RT passenger seat
It is lots of $ but everyone that has them say they are great
My dog is worth it to me

I completely understand and agree with you

I have been working on a combination of using a dog carrier seat and a pvc pipe frame over it:

this is the carrier: http://www.petego.com/products.aspx?catId=25&prodId=225

and then a pvc pipe from over the top of it

the base of the carrier fits almost perfectly on the passenger seat - I just had a new Ultimate Seat installed on my bike and today we did the install of the Utopia backrest and it looks like if I put the carrier base on the passenger seat and then install the backrest, the backrest peg will go thru the metal frame around the carrier base (I know, this is a long explanation)...

well, I am going to test this theory tomorrow and will come back either with pictures, or with a large black and blue on y forehead........
