Custom boots ?

Has anyone has custom boots made or has a recommendation on a company who does this ?

Since I'm paraplegic buying boots is a pain since I need the zipper to be down the back of the boot ( to heal ) or have two zippers one of each side of the boot to be able to get my foot in properly. So I bought custom would be the way to go.

I'm willing to make the investment in a good pair of custom boots that fit right, are easy to get on, and look great . Lets face it since Im paraplegic and use a wheelchair full time .. I'm not walking on them its not like the soles are going to wear out and ill need to buy a new pair anytime soon so when I buy a new pair of shoes its just to have a new pair, lol. My soles are never worn out and most of the time the sneakers still look almost new when I decide to buy a new pair.

I found this website and like these but am looking for other recommendations as well.

Don't know..!!

of any boot makers in your area but do know you can find the boots you like and have a shoe repair shop put zippers in for you. I have done this and they still looked great. Good luck..!! :thumbup:

I think Bates Leathers can supply what you need. They fit me when nobody else could. They even sent me a test pair to try on and measure to get the fit just right. My boots zip up the back, as you mentioned.

Many years ago I had a pair of motorcycle boots custom made at a place in either northern ORegon or southern Washington, can't find the name. They made custom boots for loggers. Maybe that will help you find them. I'll keep looking.

My thoughts, exactly. Had two pair of their boots over the years......................been thinking of purchasing another pair lately.
