• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Curious who bought my 2010 RTS PE#468?

Teddys favorite human
So, PE#468 was mine. Buying from All Seasons Power Sports in New Martinsville WV. Financing & everything done for that unit. But the night before I was to travel 2 1/2 hrs to get PE#468, she threw an Error Code that the dealer couldnt get resolved, but he didnt call me to tell me & allowed me to drive the 2 1/2 hrs to get there from Cincinnati & then he told me. Said he was hoping to get it fixed by the time I got there, but that didnt happen. So, after weeks of dreaming of my 1st Spyder & it being a Premier Edition, to say I was let down is an understatement. After hours of waiting for BRP Tech Support I had to decide to either walk away empty handed or take another RTS he still had in a crate, same byke, just not the Premier Edition. Well, see'n as my best friend & I both took a day off work to make the 2 1/2 hr trip, I agreed to take the other unit.

Imagine all the trouble I had to go through to change the Insurance and the Financing cause all the VIN #'s were different, UGH!!!

The pics posted below are the ones that the dealer (in the pic) took of them putting together PE#468 and sent me, fueling my desire even more.

Anyways, So.......... All that being said, I'm curious, who ended up buying PE#468?

Not me ! Sorry you didn't get the premier # 468 buts what in a number, I'm sure you are enjoying the RT just as much !

Not I. I "was" 0004, but bought a corbin seat so I don't have a number anymore. I much prefer the new seat though rather than the number.

Chris PE# 0004 (was)

Mine is #412

The premiere editions also came with an ipod and a cover.

did they ever tell you what the error code was?

Error code

I never asked. I've had my hands full dealing with all the issues with the one that I did get. Don't get me wrong, I still love the :spyder:

Hope any remaining issues get resolved for you. It does appear that things are getting better. Merry Christmas from the happy owner of #474 which came to Alaska.

all rts premier edition came with ipods and cover if yours didnt i would see your dealer.the wireing connections also come with it to hook up in the trunk

As I recall, only the PE RTs ordered before December 31, or some such date, got the bonus iPod. I could be wrong, but that was also a condition of the program for the First Owner jackets with the PE GS model. There was deadline date. In reality, most PEs probably shipped with an iPod, even if pre-ordered by a dealer. It would be worth asking.

As to the cables, the RTS comes with iPod and 3.5 mm (MP3) cables, and the A&C comes with the iPod cable alone.

Not me, the one we bought was near the end of build cycle for 2010.
I am glad that mine is at the end of the 2010 build run as I am hoping that a lot of the earlier problems were corrected as the units were being built.:D

So don't fret over numbers its just a number:D

Looks like it is time for a phone call because mine came with just the iPod cable.

Scotty, as to when the bike is/was ordered, how can an owner find the "order date"? If the Dealer ordered it (say for stock), versus an owner, seems the "iPod package" would still apply because BRP would not know the difference as to who ordered it.

Thanks Guys!!!

I'm afraid you are strictly at the mercy of your dealer, unless another dealer can look up the info through your VIN#. I'd talk o the owner of the dealership, and ask why you did not get the 3.5 mm cable and the iPod. If you did not get the Outdoor Cover, that is another thing they owe you. The 2010 RTS came with that cover. Looks like the 2011 RTS does not get one, from their new description. I do not have my new RTS to verify that. I wish I hadn't turned my cover in.

You are correct, the 2011 RT-S doesn't come with the cover. Had to buy my own. Actually purchased both covers.:2thumbs:

Michael,
I hope you had a great holidays. I'll be glad to look into this and see what I might be able to do for you.

The MP3 cable is the iPod integration cable. I have not seen another cable that come with any of the RT's.

Also, I'm not aware of an iPod "cover" that came with the Premier Edition RTS. The earliest RTS's came with an iPod (I think it was a Nano), but Can-Am stopped sending them with the later Premiers so every Premier didn't get one. It was a "while supplies last" type item.

I'll check with our Can-Am Factory Rep to make sure I'm not missing something and if there is anything he might be able to do for us. Seven months is quite awhile so I'm not sure if he'll be able to find anything lying around , but I'll ask.

I did however receive a "Full Cover".
I thought the RT-S Models were suppose to get the "Travel Cover"?
As they say, something is better than nothing and the people at RMS really are great to deal with.....even if you live in another state!

Your dealer is mistaken about the cables. The RTS comes with both, the A&C only has the iPod cable. If he looks in the specs or on the BRP Web site, he will see this. The 2010 RT brochure shows this in the specifications section. The applicable models are also shown with the cables on the parts fiche. The MP3 cable is P/N 710001406, and the iPod cable is P/N 710002016.

I'm sorry if I confused you. There is no iPod cover, I was speaking of the Outdoor Cover for the Spyder itself. BRP stated that the RTS came with the Travel Cover, but they were shipped with the larger cover. There is also an even larger, Custom Cover. The Travel Cover is nice. Much smaller than the Outdoor Cover.

Thanks Scotty!
I will "Copy Paste" what your wrote and "Reply" to the dealers email. :2thumbs:
Spyderfun, Len with Cowtown here....all our premiers came with the covers and the ipods.......before or after the cut off date. The cables come with all spyders that are rt-s or rt audio convience packages...I would double check with him agai,n but as I have seen with all the premiers they came with it, with out question, and all the dealers I work with have had the same thing with there's. Good luck and let me know if I can help.
