• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

curious but cautious

well.... the guy emailed me back and said that he wouldn't go below $13,500.

"Thanks but no thanks!"

We'll see how long he stays at that price....

You'll have to budget between $130 and $160 for a quality battery after it has sat that long.

He is silly. There is no waiting line for Spyders anymore, and the thing has sat for far too long for even $13500. FYI.. I bought my 08 SM5 for about that much from the dealer.... in April of 2009 -NEW IN CRATE with full warranty.

A year from now that fool will still have it in his garage asking $16k.

two things.

Hello Elliott,
I bought my Spyder used off of Craigslist when there was a 1-2 month wait for new ones in Sept. 2008. I paid $13,500 with 562 miles on it. Silver Moon color. No extended warranty. This was a fair market price for a used Spyder at the time.
I had been looking at them for 2-3 months before on eBay at the completed sales listings.
You might want to log into eBay and look at completed listings. (The completed listings are on the left hand side of the screen.)
BUT remember, you must be logged into eBay to see the completed listings section.
Some people were wanting and asking more for them at the time, but people were not buying them for the higher price they were asking.

BTW, if you look at the bottom of a lot of our posts, in our signature section, we have posted weather we are happy or unhappy Spyder owners. Just a quick way to get a feel of who likes their Spyders.

Hope you get one soon! JW

My 2008 SM5 was just delivered this morning, came from Florida. Has 4160 miles,Corbin bags, seat and windscreen(s),, custom 6 spoke wheels an I-pod sound amplifier/system in the trunk and Heli-bars. I paid $11,000 for it. I think all the accessories would put that above the $13,500 that guy is locked into.
He may not need to sell it and so has no incentive to take a lower price. I deal in Hot Rods and Custom cars and that is a common scenario, would sell...but no need. I have even seen beautiful cars literally sink into the mud over a decade because the guy didn't want to sell it. One was a neat 1940 Ford p/u, that wasn't worth much when his estate took bids on it. Not much benefit to him either.
