• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cubby Cups Drink Holder

Hello Everyone! I've owned a Spyder since October, but with the Western PA weather I can't really ride. However, I have to say partially the reason I bought the Spyder is due to this website and all of the people that are participating in it! Yesterday I went to the Progressive International Motorcycle Show in Cleveland OH.

I've been searching for a drink holder that I did not have to drill into the body of the Spyder. Some of them just fit onto the bars, but do not give the best support so it seemed. I saw a cupholder called Chubby cups, and decided to check them out. I talked to the rep. about the cup holder, and he showed me how it would screw into the existing clutch side of the handlebar.

After seeing the pictures, and how good it looked afterwards I decided to get the holder. I noticed this site did not have anything posted about it, and I thought it would be a great idea to share. http://www.chubbycups.com/spyder-drink-holder.html I paid 65$ for the whole kit, which comes with everything that you need.

The liners themselves are just foam liners, you can fit a can inside with the first liner that is really secure. I have a Droid with an otter box for my case, and with the liners removed I can put my phone inside and still have room to move it around. I haven't installed it yet, but I thought it would be a great idea to share it in case you were looking for a cup holder that you did not want to modify the body for.

Just for the RT only?

It's not for the RT, he showed me they made other ones for the other models as well. If you email the site they'll tell you about the others they have. However it's the same cup, but the screws you get for it are different that I'm aware of

thanks for the info...we bot our cup holders at toys r us...they can be purchased from any store that sells strollers...they cost 14.95 for each and they can be mounted pretty much any where that the clamp can be attached to...we put one on each side of they bike on my wifes handle grips...

RT cup holder

Amazon.com These three items, a mount for the handlebar of the RT that works great, a short extension and a cup holder that is very adequate and stylish. This system works great and moves with the spyder to keep from spilling!

If you want, I can send you pictures of the final setup.

Thanks a lot Btcherm! That looks good, but it seems like you may have some issues with it sliding around a little due to the location of the 2nd strap. Do you have to slide the strap a lot?

no it dont I have a screw clamp on it look real close at it

go to butler mug(site sponsor) no drilling fits both rt/rs right on the handle bars plus this unit gives you options for mounting cameras.

cup holder $16.00 do it yourself project

walmark cup holder zefal think about $8.00

westlake hardware

1@ 1 3/4" bolt

1@ 1 1/2" bolt

2 small washer about 3/8" wide small hole so the head of bolt can not go through (go in slot in the top of the cup holder)

1-aluminum spacer 1" long that the small bolt will go through it

1- aluminum spacer 3/4" long that the small bolt will go throug it

loctite medium locktight non harding

first take out the two bolts on the handle right or left side. (inner set of bolts on the handle grips, be careful & don't crossthread, by hand only.)

of course top and bottom bolts.

take bolts to westlake hardware and buy same bolts only the length named above.

on the zefal cup holder from walmart my walmart had them in the bike area. not auto

cup holder has two slots in it, take first slot in the middle & measure down an 1 3/8" & drill hole a little larger than the bolt.

top slot in cup holder, put 3/4" bolt, washer, & put through the slot & put another washer & then put 3/4" alum. spacer & put loctite or whatever brand you want to use on each bolt; put it in the thread of the bike handle bars/grip be careful & don't crossthread, by hand only

bottom bolt on the cup holder, lift the plastic cover on it & put in bolt (1") & put in 1"spacer, put loctite or whatever brand you want to use on each bolt. be careful & don't crossthread, by hand only

The cup holder being made of aluminum is easily shaped to the cup you want..

Any questions, feel free to let me know.
Works really good, even with a sonic 44 oz cup. no problem going down the road at high speeds, just don't fill it completely to the top.

That one seems like its a pretty good idea, because it sits behind the bars rather than in front, which the one I bought is ajustable to make it sit behind, but also its a small footprint which is nice too. How many times have you used it with a large cup like that?

All the time , even at highway speeds doesn.t bother it. Can easily adjst the cup size on it too or plastic b.

I did actually find an issue. If you have a CB that you use the button to talk is interfered with, and causes the button to stick.:gaah:
