Crutches

Hi All. I am a amputee and walk with forearm crutches. I just purchased a 2015 Can Am RT-S Special Series model. I am searching for ways to mount my crutches while riding. If you have any ideas, have seen ways, or if you have come up with something yourself please let me know or send me some pics. Thanks so much.....I am soooo excited to ride again!! The suggestion to bungee the crutches across the passenger arm rests is a good one.

I used to carry a folding cane in my trunk--but you do not have that advantage.

Good on yer friend, for conquering a problem. There has to be a way. Post a pic of your crutches and the physical dimensions. One of us will be able to come up with an easy storage device.:clap:

How about if you mounted pvc pipe pieces on each side ( mounted to the Tupperware) as sleeves to receive your crutches. Angle the receivers/ sleeves so the bottom of the crutch rests on the floor board.

Would have ave to place and angle them so they would not interfere with the handlebar rotation.

I use 1 arm crutch . I lay it on top of the dash behind the windshield with the hand grip just inside of the left side windshield support .I then take a short bungee cord and wrap it around the center windshield support . Bring the ends of the bungee outside of the outer windshield supports over the crutch und hook them on the thin edge of the dash . Haven't tried it with two crutchs but if you lay the second crutch turned to the reverse direction it should work .

Seal had a tote rack mount that would fit on hitch & carry golf bags or a walker:firstplace::2thumbs:.
I don't see it listed on his sight now but worth asking if he still offers. Till then & just so you can enjoy some ryde time, the passenger bars are good enough just don't become "wide load" & have them stick out too far!
Also suggest ratchet straps to bungees personally. (Less chance to scratch or mar things)

Unless they are not much wider than the max width of the bike, I'd be leery of that. My concern would be that if something sideswiped you, they would/could whip around and hit you or go flying. Something that held them vertical and behind you would probably be safer. The rifle scabbard idea sounds like a good idea, and you may be able to use one of the rear peg/floorboard mounts for stability. Think about how you want to mount/dismount the bike and support yourself while you access the crutches. It all has to flow.
