• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cruise Control question...

You need to tell that guy that if he can't make up a plausible lie then the best thing is to say "I'm not sure, let me find out". I really hate when people just make up a lie when they don't know the answer to a question.

:agree: :gaah: He's got to be able to think quicker on his feet than THAT!

I think the issue also is RPM related. I use my cruise control a LOT here in AK and have never had any problems with it running at less than 45 mph. You just have to be in the correct operating gear and range. I recommend shifting up at 5000, and keeping the rpms in the 4500-5500 in any gear. For me, 5th is usually used for 65 mph and up highways.

We have discussed dealers by PM--so I will leave it at that. :D

Thread: Cruise Control question...

I have an RT SE5, 2010. I have found that at 45 mph the cruise control doesn't work. At 46 or higher it works fine. I live with it.

Low Speed Cruise Control Test

To satisfy my own curiosity, I took a ride to check the operation of the cruise control at low speeds. Normally, I just use it on the highway at 55+.

I rode the Eklutna Lake Road to Chugach State Park. This is a 10 mile long road that is uphill all the way to the Lake/State Park. It is posted at 35 mph and goes down to 30 when the road narrows and has some steep ravines on one side.

I was in second gear all the way, rpms at about 4200, and cruise control set at 32 mph. The cruise control worked perfectly all the way. As the road experienced a few uphills and downhills, the speed would vary + or - 2 mph or so--other than that it held, except for the couple times I touched the brake.

It appears, that rpm has a lot to do with when or not the cruise control will function.

Hope this information helps.
