• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Crooked Handlebars

I just took my first ride of the season up to Maine yesterday. It seems that my handlebars are off by a few degrees. While driving strait on the highway, the handlebars are pointed to the left slightly (just a few degrees). I am wondering if the dealer did something during the DPS install last fall. The RT-S does not pull to either side and the tires have been wearing evenly. It seems like I fix one thing and something else goes wrong. Has anyone else seen this issue? Can the handlebars be adjusted? :gaah:

Sounds like the dealer got the DPS installation or the Sensor adjustment wrong. Take it to him and kindly show him the error of his ways!

my handle bars is to the right a little, I'am afraid to let the dealer adjust it, because everthing is ok, tires have 11,000 miles and look like new,
they would most likely screw it up. :2thumbs:

Mine are slightly to the left.. I didn't notice it last year at all--but for some reason it's to the left a bit. Could it be an alignment possible?? I'm thinking DPS as well.. Oh I must add this to though cause maybe it could effect it,, I did put on RT shocks on a 08 RS,, Could that possible be the cause of it?? I was thinking of starting a threat about it but you all bet me to it.. Thanks

Installing RT shocks won't do it. Likely cause is failure to center the steering properly when:
a.) Zeroing the steering sensors
b.) Installing DPS
c.) Initial factory construction
d.) Changing front end alignment
e.) Replacing steering/suspension components
f.) Combination of the above

It could also result from front end damage. A Spyder whose steering is not centered when going straight down the road, should have the problem corrected by a good dealer.

Question: Is there enough "give in the system" that perhaps the bars could be loosened in their mounts and re-tightened with them pointed in the right direction??
(and I don't even now HOW they mount! :gaah:

Good question, I think not BUT I'm sure NancysToy will charm in on this what, What do you think NancysToys, any adjustment on the bars itself?
