• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Crash Statistics--

Having not been on a motorcycle for some 30 years, I had to go through the whole MC endorsement process here in North Carolina. They give you a book to study for a written test (permit) then you ride around some cones in a parking lot for the license. I feel from a Spyder standpoint, that the NC driving test is a waste of time. I do however think that the book had a ton of good insight for newbies - Visibility, enhanced vigilance, etc...)
I do feel that the Spyder is quite a bit safer than a 2-wheeler, and we would not be enjoying the open road if not for these wonderful machines. There are a few posts on here where folks have had accidents, whether involving other vehicles or animals, and they have said they wouldn't be around to tell the story if not for the Spyder.
It does come down to each of us though. I always assume people don't see me, so I'm always looking for my contingency plan as we ride. Some may call that paranoid, but I feel that we increase our chances for mishaps when we become complacent in our riding.

Seems low to me, too, since it is not a lot higher than the number published when the DPS recall was announced, and we've had 2+ additional model years, plus the gangbuster success of the RTs. I'd like to think more, but I would be pleasantly surprised if we were at six figures yet.

Last weekend a BRP rep told me that they have sold 100,000 + units worldwide. At the time,we were talking about the % of RS units to RT units (60/40) being currently sold and if the launch of the ST would prove to be the demise of the RS. He firmly believed that the RS sales would suffer no more than the RT sales. BRP believes that the ST fills an important niche and compliments the other horses in the stable. They are looking to increase sales and believe a broader product portfolio is what the market wants.

You can take this info as fact or fiction. That is what I was told and I had no reason then or now to believe that the gentleman was spinning a tale.

Thanks for the information, good to know. There's no way to know if it is accurate, but it seems close, and the source is as good or better than any other SWAG. If it is just a rumor, let's spread it anyway. ;)

Great... NOT..

"When I passed, I saw... head down... texting. 75mph and texting."

So.. they were doing 75mph and texting.. and you passed them doing 75mph+..

And you are here complaining about people being unsafe..

Um.. yeah.. ok..
