• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Maybe, Most times oil blows into the air box and drips out from the bottom of the box on the right side. Seems to be very common. Started Happening to me at about 1 or 2 thousand miles.
I have a 08 SM5.

Lucky...

many Spyders have this problem at just a few hundred miles. One of my 08s and the 09 had this little nuisance but the other 08 doesn't. /Ken

:2thumbs: I just took the top half of the air box off and it was dry as a bone.I put a piece of air filter sponge from a lawn mower filter about 2000kms ago, no oil in the air box,

:agree:
Same here, Sponge, 8 thousand miles, dry. Much easier then the,
Rube Goldberg way.:ohyea:

Mine plugged...

Thanks, my concern is that I forget to check it and it plugs up. What do you think the consequences would be? Or is that filter sufficiently open celled that plugging up would be impossible?

because the foam sort of compressed when I pushed it into the breather hose.

Consequences:
Crankcase pressure built up, busted (pushed) oil seal at front-sprocket drive shaft..., and some other gasket joints as well. Oil everywhere...:cus:

Solution:
KewlMetal Air Filter Kit, where the breather hose is connected directly above and into the throttle body.
Also gained easy access to front cylinder spark-plug and upper engine areas. :D

Saludos, Pilo
