• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Crankcase Bolt Stripped...now what??

I do still sell Dimple Brand magnetic plugs, they install with a real socket, not an allen / hex / torx. I can't yet afford to renew my vendor status, so this post may get removed.

How many different wives do you have, beside the ny one?

one wife, two Spyders

Thanks for the well wishes and advice, Afriend from Cullman belives we can get it out - I think that means He while I watch... LOL But after talking to him I feel beter... Replacement plug.. hmmm got to get one

I hope those of you with stripped, and sheared, ones are able to get them out fairly soon. I just changed my oil this weekend and replaced my drain plugs with the Gold Plug magnetic ones, 1 M1 and 1 M2 did the trick. They use a 17 mm bolt head so I shouldn't ever have to worry about stripping them again.

UPDATE!

OK I see I am not the only one with a problem. But My drain plug sheared off! No choice (that I can see) but to drill a hole and use an easy out (bad name) anyone want to go to my house in Alabama and help? LOL

P.S. Glad it's the Spyder ny wife drives... oops did I type that?

I ordered the Gold plugs, Truck A/C went ou again so while it was in the shop I went home. Looked in the mail and there were my new plugs - Now to get out the old ones. Called my buddy - he was on his way - crawled under the (yellow) Spyder with hammer and screw driver in hand. Taped the handle of the the driver and it just moved to the other side. Great gonna be hard... touched the plug with my finger nail and it moved, tokk out the old plug with just my fingers... JAY was right! He is my new hero! He pulled in the yard a few later and helped me tighted down the new plugs - BTW our Can-am dealer said the OEM plugs were on back order. sure glad I order those gold ones.

Thanks to Jay all is well, for now anyways....
