• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

cracking and popping nose

[FONT=&quot]Is anyone having a cracking and popping nose coming from the back wheel? I was told the belt makes a lot of nose, but I have never had a belt driven motorcycle before. So I don’t know if it is normal or not.

Thanks

My first guess would be wheel bearings. That's the noise ours made.

:agree: My belt really doesnt make any noise. Check to see if your belt is running up on the inner edge of the rear sprocket. That could be some of the noise you hear.

Hi Dudley,

I just wanted to say how nice it was meeting you and Jennifer in San Diego, owning a :spyder2:makes you a member of a great family. Everywhere I go (I have been across the US a couple of times) people with :spyder2:'s are so very warm and friendly its a great family.

Well my :spyder2: was a year old on the 4th of Aug and I have 21,765 miles on her. I was trying to get 25.000 miles the first year but didn't make it.

Hope to run into you and your beautiful wife again soon.

Don

noise

if it is occasional, is it happening only after riding slowly forward or in reverse over gravel? likely small rocks picked up by rear tyre and dropped on lower section of belt and getting polverized by belt/sprockets meshing. you can build a shield to prevent it.

An over tensioned drive belt may have used up the rear bearings. There is a Mod out on lessening the tension on that belt. It seems the factory had way too much tension. Ken krb1945
